Tortoise Folk Paragon[edit]

Known for their limitless endurance, tortoise folk paragons are a powerful force to be reckoned with. Many of them practice a tradition of mercantile arts, while others may use their strengths for more brutal efforts.

Making a Tortoise Folk Paragon[edit]

Abilities: Constitution is the most important ability score to tortoise paragons. Their combat tactics are highly defensive and they are able to soak up a huge amount of damage before they fall.

Races: Tortoise folk, obviously.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the tortoise folk paragon.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Tortoise folk paragons are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with light, medium, and heavy armor, and with shields (including tower shields).

Bonus Feat (Ex): Tortoise folk paragons gain a bonus feat at 1st and 3rd level. These feats are selected from the fighter list of bonus feats and the tortoise must meet the prerequisites for the feat.

Powerful Lineage (Ex): Tortoise folk paragons have powerful traits from deep within their lineage. They gain an additional racial ability from the list of racial abilities they chose at character creation (such as snapper).

Steely Carapace (Ex): Tortoise folk paragons have a shell so strong that its outermost area is as strong as steel. A tortoise folk paragon can have their shell count as a metal armor of their choice. Once chosen, this decision cannot be changed. The shell can be enchanted like normal magic armor, but it does not count as carried weight by the tortoise. The material defaults as masterwork steel, but the tortoise folk paragon can spend the cost difference of another material to treat his shell with magical oils that make it behave like the other material (so he could pay for it to act like mithral armor by paying 1,000 gp, 4,000 gp, or 9,000 gp depending on the type of armor he chose his shell to act as). It can only have the properties of one material.

Furthermore, when the tortoise reaches 5 HD, his shell gains the light fortification property this does not increase the base enchantment modifier of the shell.

When the tortoise reaches 10 HD, his shell gains the moderate fortification property instead.

When the tortoise folk reaches 15 HD, his shell gains the heavy fortification property instead.

Ability Boost (Ex): Tortoise folk paragons are extremely resilient and increase their Constitution score by 2.
