Unique Attack Modifiers

Some classes and systems end up putting many save-or-suck effects on melee or ranged attacks. Characters can make multiple of these attacks in a round (thus forcing several saves on the same creature per attack routine) and can obtain many of these rider effects (thus forcing multiple saves per attack per creature). It can quickly become impossible for even an opponent with good saves to get past these effects.

If a rider effect on an attack would cause an opponent to make a saving throw (like a Tome Monk's paralysis), that opponent can only be affected once per round. If they succeed on the save, they are out of danger for that round. If they fail, they can't be affected a second time.

If an attack has multiple such rider effects, the attacker must choose one of them. Only that effect is considered active for that attack, and opponents struck by the attack need only save against that effect.
