A word warrior combines wordspells with combat actions


Word Warrior

A word warrior combines wordspells with combat actions. Your KOM is your Spellcasting Ability Modifier (SAM) for this track. The DC for your spells is equal to 10 + ½ your character level + your Spellcasting Ability Modifier.

Track Abilities

1st Circle - Combat Wordcasting 1: You may replace one or more of your attacks made during your attack action with a wordspell. The spell may contain two words for each attack that is replaced. If you make an attack as part of the wordspell, it is at the same attack bonus as the highest replaced attack.

You learn three spell words, at least one of which is a shape word and one is an effect word.

Additionally, if you replace the first attack of your attack action with a wordspell, you count as having a Good Base Attack Bonus (equal to your character level) until the beginning of your next turn.

2nd Circle - Combat Wordcasting 2: You learn 2 spell words.

3rd Circle - Combat Wordcasting 3: You learn 2 spell words.

4th Circle - Combat Wordcasting 4: You learn 2 spell words.

5th Circle - Combat Wordcasting 5: You learn 2 spell words.

6th Circle - Combat Wordcasting 6: You learn 2 spell words.

7th Circle - Combat Wordcasting 7: You learn 2 spell words.


Wordspells

A wordspell consists of a shape word, one or more effect words, and optional modifier words. Each word can be used at most once per spell word, unless otherwise specified. It gains all the descriptors of the words that make it up. A wordspell is treated as a spell with a circle equal to the number of effect and modifier words it contains.

Shape Words

First Circle

Spell - Your wordspell affects a single target in [Close] range. A Will save negates any effects. You may add one additional word you know to this spell.
Attack - Make an attack roll with a melee weapon you are wielding. If your attack roll is a hit, the target takes damage from your wordspell with no save. A Fortitude save negates any other effects. Your wordspell does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Missile - Make an attack roll with a ranged weapon you are wielding. If your attack roll is a hit, the target takes damage from your wordspell with no save. A Fortitude save negates any other effects. Your wordspell provokes attacks of opportunity as if it were a ranged attack.

Third Circle

Burst - Your wordspell affects targets in a 20 ft spread originating from a square within [Long] range. Targets are granted a Reflex save; a successful save halves any damage and negates any other effects.
Line - Your wordspell affects creatures within [Medium] range in a line originating from you. Targets are granted a Reflex save; a successful save halves any damage and negates any other effects.
Wedge - Your wordspell affects creatures within a wedge originating from you with a length of 15 ft plus 5 ft per character level you possess. Targets are granted a Reflex save; a successful save halves any damage and negates any other effects.
Aura - Your wordspell affects allies within 10 ft + 5 ft per character level.

Effect Words

If the effect of your spell does not already include your KOM, you may add your KOM to the damage done by one effect word that causes damage.

First Circle

Steel - Deal damage as if you hit with a weapon you are wielding. This effect already includes your KOM.
Fire [Fire] - Deal [Fire] damage equal to your level. You may add this word more than once.
Electricity [Electricity] - Deal [Electricity] damage equal to your level. You may add this word more than once.
Acid [Acid] - Deal [Acid] damage equal to your level. You may add this word more than once.
Cold [Cold] - Deal [Cold] damage equal to your level. You may add this word more than once.
Force [Force] - Deal [Force] damage equal to your level. You may add this word more than once.
Healing [Positive] - Heal damage equal to your level + your KDM. If this affects a creature that is damaged by [Positive] effects, it functions as Harming instead, except it is not a [Negative] effect. You may add this word more than once; each additional occurrence of the word increases the healing done by your level.
Harming [Negative] - Deal damage equal to your level. If this affects a creature that is damaged by [Positive] effects, it functions as Healing instead, except it is not a [Positive] effect. You may add this word more than once.

Second Circle

Restoring - Remove one of the following conditions currently affecting the targets: [Bleeding], [Blinded], [Burning], [Confused], [Dazzled], [Deafened], [Energy drained], [Exhausted], [Fatigued], [Frightened], [Nauseated], [Paralyzed], [Shaken], [Sickened], [Slowed], [Stunned]. At 4th circle, this can also remove [Battered] or [Dazed]. At 6th circle this can also remove [Petrified].

Third Circle

Dispelling [Dispelling] - End an effect caused by a spell or spell-like ability of up to first circle that originates from a targeted creature or square or targeted a targeted creature. You may add this word more than once, each time increasing the maximum circle of the dispelled effect by 1.

Fourth Circle

Teleporting [Teleport] [Warp] - Each willing target is teleported to a point within your [Melee] range of both the target and the caster. The destinations of all targets must be within your [Melee] range of each other.

Modifier Words

Third Circle

Far - Increase the range and all the measurements of your wordspell by one category. You may increase the range of your wordspell from a range less than your [Melee] range to your [Melee] range, from greater than or equal to your [Melee] range to your [Close] range, from greater than or equal to your [Close] range to your [Medium] range, from greater than or equal to your [Medium] range to your [Long] range, or from greater than or equal to your [Long] range to your [Extreme] range. You may add this word more than once.
Selective - You may exclude any number of targets that would otherwise be affected by your wordsepll.

Seventh Circle

Double - Choose an additional target for your wordspell, with the same shape word. Your wordspell affects all creatures that would be affected by either target. It does not affect these targets more than once.
