Revised Elf

Racial Traits

  • +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence or +2 Charisma: [Complete Book of Elves excerpt here]
  • Humanoid (Elf): Just better than you 
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, an elf has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Elf base land speed is 30 feet.  
  • Low-Light Vision: An elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. 
  • Elves receive a +2 bonus on Listen, Search, Spot checks as well as one Craft and Perform skill of her choice. These skills are always class skill for an elf. 
  • Elves receive Iron Will as a bonus feat. 
  • Aloofness (Ex): Creatures without the elven subtype take a -4 penalty on all Charisma-based check made to influence the disposition of an elf. This apply to Intimidate used to demoralize opponent against an elf. 
  • Bloodline (Ex): An elf start with one special bloodline chosen below: 
  • Elven Perception (Ex): Elves have an exceptional vision, specially at long range, halving the penalty based on distance when using the Spot skill. 
  • Natural Ties (Ex): As long as an elf is in natural terrain they gain a +2 bonus on Initiative checks. 
  • Weapon Proficiency (Ex): Elves are automatically proficient with the longsword, rapier, longbow, composite longbow, shortbow, and composite shortbow. A
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Elven
  • Bonus Languages: Draconic, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, Sylvan
  • Favored Class: Any
  • Level Adjustment: +0
  • Effective Character Level: 1

Elven Bloodlines

An elf choose his or her elven bloodline, once selected it cannot be changed later.

Aquatic Elf: You gain a swim speed equal to your land speed, the aquatic subtype and the Amphibious special quality.

Brush Elf: You gain a +2 competence attack bonus on ranged attack while Prone and you gain the ability to ignore concealment and cover from natural foliage, this does not apply to total concealment or total cover.

Dark Elf/Drow: You gain darkvision 120 feet and proficiency with one exotic light or ranged weapon. You speak undercommon instead of common and can learn drow sign language. You gain Light Blindness.

Half-Drow: You gain an extra skill point per level and the human subtype. You gain darkvision 60 ft and Light Sensitivity. You switch all your elf weapon proficiency for a proficiency with one exotic light or ranged weapon.

Half-Elf: You gain an extra skill point per level and the human subtype. An half-elf's Natural Ties work even in civilization but not in alien or strange unnatural terrain.

Grey Elf: You count your Intelligence or Charisma as 2 point higher for the purpose of the number of extra spells you are granted per day.

High Elf: You are immune to sleep and paralysis effects.

Wild Elf: You gain Track as a bonus feat and a +2 bonus on Survival.

Wood Elf: You gain a +2 Racial bonus on Balance, Hide and Tumble checks, these skills are always class skills for you. As long you have a Climber's Kit you gain a Climb Speed equal to half your land speed. This include a +8 bonus on Climb checks and the ability to take 10 even while under stress.

Alternate Racial Features

Innovative Youth: Not all elves are dusty and disciplined, some young (or once young) attempt to take the world much like humans do. These elves are more open-minded, more diverse skilled but also do not have the steadfastness of their forebear. An elf with this trait lose both Aloofness and Iron Will and take a -1 penalty to Will saving throws. Instead, the elf gain a [moderate]-level feat it meet the prerequisites as a bonus feat.

Hippy Elf: Some elves hate violence and do not train for combat (or at least had parents who did). They lose their racial Weapon Proficiency and instead gain an additional +2 bonus on either a Craft or Perform skill of their choice or a +2 bonus on Handle Animal skill. Handle Animal is always a class skill for the elf.

Weapon Familiarity: Some Elves have already received full martial training and have little use for their racial training. An elf with this trait lose it Racial Weapon proficiency and instead treat Elven Doublebow, Elven Thinblade and Greatbow as martial weapons.
