Double Tap[edit]

Despite their slowness, the ranged weapons used by witchfinders are potent, and the training received by witchfinders makes them all the more so. Using a special form of loading, an unusual mechanism, or just extremely fast fire, this technique lets loose two shots in the time it would normally take to perform just one. Traditionally, these are aimed first at the heart, and then the head, letting the recoil of the weapon carry the aim from one to the other naturally.

Affects: One creature; see text

Use Time: Standard

As part of this technique, make a ranged attack. You make two attack rolls as part of this attack, and use the higher of the two results. If either of these threatens a critical hit, the attack is considered to threaten, and you may roll to confirm twice and take the better result.

If both of the dice indicate a hit, the weapon deals double its base damage (for example, a light crossbow would deal 2d8 damage).

This technique includes loading times, and thus, whether the weapon is loaded or not makes no difference. At the end of this technique, the weapon used is loaded at no extra time cost.
