A close up look reveals its body to be covered in eyes from the inside out, and deformed humanoid faces texturing its skin.  Behind the back of its head a fantastically long spine-like tail tipped with a bone blade waves in the wind.''

[[Summary::The vorospes is a titanic lawful evil outsider found on Acheron who bring ruin and devestation wherever they go.  The tactical nukes within the troops, these bulbous floating blimps devour everything in sight!]]  They are born from souls of those who brought disproportionate revenge on those who harmed them, leaving their opponents so utterly decimated that there was nothing left, consumed by their power.  Unlike most devils, vorospes are not formed from one evil soul but thousands who fused together into this bloated floating monstrocity.

They make up the tactical nukes of the menos subtype, lower planar beasts who have a disruptive effect on magic.  They are deployed to the battlefield only if the goal is absolute destruction, for the vorospes who begins to devour shows no difference between friend and foe.  A vorospes is 64 feet in diameter and weighs 125 tons, even though they float as if they weighed nothing.  They do not speak and only make incomprehensible wailing, the sound of thousands of angry souls demanding the death of others.  They understand Abyssal, Celestial, and Infernal.

A vorospes is powerful but feebleminded, loyal to its fiendish masters who grant it opportunity to be released and destroy something important to the enemy.  Single-minded, it moves over to its goal and begins to devour space, using its mass hit points and general durability to endure attacks long enough to destroy everything.  Fights with vorospes tend to be timed battles.  Allowing a vorospes to activate its devour space ability spells doom but all but the strongest adventurers.

'''All-Around Vision {{Ex}}:''' A vorospes is covered with eyes inside and out.  It cannot be flanked, but takes a -4 penalty against gaze attacks.  If blinded, it will automatically recover in 1d4 rounds as the eyes regrow on its body.

'''Devour Space {{Su}}:''' As a full-round action vorospes can begin a countdown, where it begins drawing energy into its mouth.  Each round after the first it must take a move action to continue concentrating on the effect, until it has completed 9 move actions.  When fully charged, its mouth opens impossibly wide and the vorospes appears to collapse on itself, transforming into a black hole and completely destroying everything in a 500 ft radius.  Those stuck in the area may make a [[Fortitude]] save DC 29 or be utterly destroyed, on a successful save they only take 40d6 damage.  Treat this as ''[[SRD:Disintegrate|disintegrate]]'' for the purpose of spells and effects which are destroyed by the spell, and for what happens to your body if you are slain by this damage.  The destruction lasts for 1 round after which the vorospes re-appears and the black hole vanishes, typically leaving a very large bowl shaped crater in its wake.  It is this power that the vorospes is so feared as a tactical weapon of mass destruction, but its long charging time makes its use difficult.  It often has to spend only a single move action a round, using its remaining standard action to fight off opposition.  It can perform this ability 1/day.

Any attempts to cast within one must succeed on a caster level check DC 5 + the creature's HD or be unable to cast (the action is lost, but the spell however is not lost). It is not an antimagic field, and so magical effects originating from outside the field can still get in.
