Zenitt Forge Set

Long ago in the frozen land of Zenitt, frost giants ruled. Among them, in his fortress stronghold, was a great armor smith of renown, Lokk Stonehold. Among a few pieces of his equipment, that which survived to this age, are his artifact tools.

Coldiron Hard Mallet

This unusually hard cold iron mallet has a solid metal shaft for the handle, wrapped in worn black leather. Runic symbols in the Giant language are molded into the head.

If used in combat, it functions as a simple two-handed weapon dealing 1d6 bludgeoning damage, or as a one-handed weapon for a Large creature. It weighs 8 pounds and has a hardness of 15.

If used for crafting with cold iron, the tool grants a +4 circumstance bonus on Craft checks as if it were a masterwork tool. Such cold iron items crafted with it have their base hardness increased to 15.

Black Forgehammer

This large warhammer looks like no other item in the set. The metal is a pale, frosted silver, blackened along the striking surface of the head. The shaft and head appear to be a single piece of metal, though the shaft is deeper in color and patina, with iridescent blues, purples and greens. The metal appears to be mithral but with the weight of steel. When exposed to heat, the entire forgehammer turns black for a short time. It tends to stain the welders hands with black soot.

When wielded, the holder may use mending at will and a special make whole (taking 1 minute) 3 times per day as spell-like abilities (caster level 20). Reconstructed items may have any enchantments restored at 1/10th the original crafting cost (taking time as a Craft check normally with the repair cost instead of the total item cost). This special make whole also restores objects mundanely or magically warped or bent out of shape.

Forgewright Calipers

What looks to be a simple, if oversized, pair of bronze calipers with Giant runes for measurement, impart knowledge into the holder upon use. Simply by holding the calipers and using them to pick up or measure an object, the holder gains the knowledge of the object's weight, size on all dimensions and grants a +10 circumstance bonus on Appraise checks on held objects.

Up to 3 times per day, the holder may also call upon the use of analyze object and once per week remove curse on an object as spell-like abilities (caster level 20).

Quenching Oil

This massive worn steel and bronze oil urn is decorated with complex patterns of geometric shapes interspersed with Giant runic symbols. Four handles rim the top edge on each side with a chain attached to a lid that hangs on the side.

When tipped upright, the urn slowly fills with oil, filling 1 pint every round until filled of all 55 gallons. Unlikes most oil, the quenching oil does not burn easily by mundane fire.

When used during crafting by a smith, the oil imbues weapons with enhanced elemental purity. Any elemental damage dealt by a weapon forged with oil from within the quenching urn is enhanced, dealing an additional 2 points of pure elemental damage.

Salamander Glove

This massive glove of dark leather crackles and burns hot on the outside.

When worn, the wielder can hold anything without the heat from the object transferring to themselves (such as by heat metal). Attacks with the glove as well as by held items may be enhanced as a free action to gain an additional 1d6 fire damage on a successful hit. Since the glove only protects a single hand, it does not protect the wearer from burning themselves when wielding a salamander-heated two-handed weapon.

Stoking Hand Bellows

This large hand bellows made of brass and canvas is scratched, sooty and warm to the touch. It requires two hands to operate.

Up to 3 times per day, the bellows can be used to create a special gust of wind that instead of extinguishing flames, causes them to temporarily increase in strength before dying back down normally. Affected mundane and magical fires have their damage empowered for 2 rounds. All three daily charges may be used at once to instead maximize and empower for 1 round.

Set Bonus

When all the tools are used together for crafting (functioning as masterwork tools), they speed up the process immensely. For crafting typical objects (magical or mundane), the total time required to finish crafting is divided by 5. For crafting items of at least masterwork quality, the total time required to finish crafting is instead divided by 10. This time reduction does not stack with other sources of quick crafting.

Additionally, items may be crafted using the Zenitt Forge Set with up to three item templates applied, instead of the usual limit of one per item.
