A flying drone ship shaped like a fat flying wing, with a dozen smaller winglets covering the length of its wing. In flight these mall panels flex and move to keep the largely hollow craft stable no matter the conditions, and its cargo safe. The ship has been optimized for cargo space at the expense of everything else, leading some to call it the flying treasure chest.

The company Luna-Tesla often had to transport large heavy loads around the world at rapid speeds, and so they took their drone ship research and made a ship that was entirely drone and storage space. Taking the normally unstable lifting body/flying wing design, they compensated for this flaw with dozens of "feathers" that moved and responded with inhuman accuracy to changing conditions, resulting in a smooth and stable flight.

To save on weight and maximize cargo space, the transport contains no pilot what-so-ever and entirely relies on its autopilot and advanced flight systems. Except for fuel and mechanics, the majority of the interior is hollow. The arup is roughly 15 ft long and 40 ft wide, while standing about 15 ft tall as well. Its surprisingly lightweight when unloaded at only 12,000 lbs, and has a very high carrying capacity for its size. Communication is done via various pre-recorded audio cues and its display, as well as radio communication.

Combat[edit]

Arups are not combat craft, but some are equipped with a flak cannon that unpredictable amounts of damage, but are good for protecting themselves against missiles and other solid projectile approaching them. The cannon is mounted on a rotating turret mount on the top and bottom that typically keeps itself flush with the body when not in use.

Advanced Flight Systems (Ex): Arups are gifted with detailed satellite maps and up to date network relays. So long as it has been given information on an area, it can never be lost. Even when lost, it actively builds a map of the area and shares it with its kin upon next time it is in contact. The advanced flight systems also provides a +10 racial bonus to any check to remain stable, maintaining flight, or resisting the effects of wind. In the event of the vehicle being at 0 hp or less (but not more than its maximum hp in negative hp) the body of the craft is intact and it will attempt to crash land as gently as possible. Its occupants and cargo only take 1/2 damage from falling. After crashing, the arup is destroyed with its cargo hopefully intact.

Cargo: The arup can contain an object up to its own size (Huge) or smaller, and has a carrying capacity of a quadruped one size category larger (Gargantuan). This places its light load at 8,320 lbs or less, medium at 8,321 lbs-16,640 lbs, and heavy at 16,641 lbs-24,960 lbs. It can fly with a medium or heavy load at 2/3rd speed. It is capable of opening its cargo doors in order to airdrop cargo mid-flight if desired.

Flak Cannon (Ex): This cannon releases a spray of shrapnel, forming a line which it makes an attack roll against all creatures within its path. Attacking is a standard action that deals 2d10 piercing and slashing damage. The flak cannon has a range increment of only 80 ft, as it is not designed to shoot down other craft. Instead it can be used as an immediate action, but only to intercept incoming physical projectiles (even siege projectiles, though certain oversized or unusually durable objects may be immune). An opposed attack roll is made, and if they meet or beat the opponent's attack roll the attack is deflected off course or destroyed. On a failed opposed attack roll, it still halves incoming projectile damage as long as it did not roll a 1. A typical drone transport only has enough ammunition for 12 shots before it must restock.

Long Take Off and Landing: The arup is not a VTOL craft and it requires a long flat surface in order to take off or land. It needs 2500 ft (or 5000 ft if bearing a medium or heavy load) in order to take off or land properly. Attempting to land or take off on a shorter runway risks a crash, and attempting to land on a non-flat surface deals the vehicle 1d6 damage for every 20 ft of difficult surface it crosses. During take off, its land speed quickly adds itself each round (+15 ft) and after 5 rounds, it begins to lift off.

MADAR (Su): The arup effectively possesses blindsense out to 1 mile, but only for Huge and larger objects flying above 100 ft.

Programming: The arup possesses the following programs: Communication, Identify Object, Reposition, Search, and Self-Preservation.
