Include Near-Powers?[edit]

Should we include "Near-Powers" (as Planescape calls them, aka Power-like beings, quasi-deities, etc.) in this category? Namely this would be demon lords, animal lords, archomentals, the Lady of Pain, Primus the modron lord, archdevils (who may or may not be as powerful as any deity or more), possibly the titans and surely some more. Those beings differ from deities in different ways, but the play in the same league, or almost do. Alternatively, we could put them into Category:Character.

To me, they seem closer to the usual deity than the usual character, so I would rather include them here. Opinions? Daranios 08:39, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

I can see the argument for wanting to do so, but I'm disinclined to do it myself. The mechanical aspects of being a deity include being able to grant spells and throw down avatars and what not, and the characters described above do not generally possess these abilities. They're more like really high level NPCs that you could possibly murder without having the ascend to the level of deity. I think the line between characters and deities is sufficiently well defined, and that these all fall pretty clearly on the character side. - Tarkisflux Talk 19:43, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
