Question[edit]

This may not be the most appropriate place for this, but given that it spans several articles here it seemed acceptable. Anyway, I was wondering why the elemental weird is not accessible via the Infusion of Elemental Essence feat? The Conduit of the Lower Planes was made available to natives of the Prime via Product of Infernal Dalliance, so I'm just curious as to why the elemental weird does not follow the same logic. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a bit restrictive compared to its counterpart. -- Jota 20:59, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Mostly since I was copying off the Fiendish Brute for the Elemental Brute, and off the Elemental Brute for the Weird. Also, note that the Infusion of Elemental Essence feat does not indicate an elemental ancestor, so even copying the Conduit's wording wouldn't help. I can justify this by saying that fiendish power is easy to acquire, since they're trying to corrupt you all the time, but the Elements really aren't. That said, if you wanted to make Infusion allow it in, go for it.
I'm integrating all of this into a project of much larger scale, and will write a lot of the flavor in more detail as part of the project; the rules I've already given will probably be mostly unchanged, although there will be a lot more rules content in the project, too, and I might revise things if I'm convinced that they need it. --IGTN 22:54, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
I understand your reasoning for the restriction, I just feel that its just that, restrictive. Obviously you can have a DM wave that, but I feel like making it accessible to other races (like the Publication:Unearthed Arcana/Elemental Racial Variants or via Infusion of Elemental Essence) without said hand wave might make it more attractive. But again, however you want to do it is fine. -- Jota 04:19, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
