The Close Bond is a feat in 5th ed. Dungeons & Dragons.

Close Bond
Prerequisite: Ranger's Companion class feature
Your close bond with your animal companion allows you to enhance it in a number of different benefits

  • You may cast the Warding Bond spell with no material component at will, but targeting only your companion
  • Your companion may continue attempting to obey your last command, though if it does not have a target or if you want it to change targets, you must issue it a new command
  • If your companion dies, as a reaction you may enter a rage, as per a first level barbarian. If you choose to do so, may use the reckless attack feature as a second level barbarian while you maintain the rage, and gain a level of exhaustion when the rage ends.
