The Coastal Sphinxes Paragon is a racial paragon class whose purpose is to allow players to play strong, customizable and fun sphinxes without getting the shaft.

Making a Coastal Sphinx Paragon[edit]

Abilities: Coastal Sphinxes Paragon require high physical and mental ability scores to function as paragon of sphinxkind, but it mostly depend on their way of life.

Races: This racial paragon class is meant for the LA 1 version of the Coastal Sphinx. Using the LA 0 version may be a little more powerful than intended as the LA was taken in account in the balance of the class.

Alignment: Any.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Coastal Sphinx Paragon.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Coastal Sphinxes receive no further proficiency.

Racial Ability Score Progression: At 1st and every level except 5th level, the coastal sphinx paragon receive the following racial bonus to her ability scores. These racial bonus stack with the Coastal Sphinx's own racial bonuses but no others.

Coastal Mastery (Ex): A 1st level coastal sphinx paragon has mastered her living space, the coast. Her climb speed increase to be equal to her land speed and she gain a swim speed of 20 ft. Additionally whenever she can see the open ocean she is under the an extraordinary know direction effect.

Secondary Bloodline: A 1st level Coastal Sphinx Paragon gain a secondary bloodline of her choice, this bloodline scale with Hit Dice assuming you have at least half of the required HDs in class level (so to receive the 6 HD benefits one need 3 level in this class and all 6 for the 12 HD benefits). The secondary bloodlines are chosen from the list below:

Agile Flyer: You are an incredible flyer, capable of incredible airborn stunts. Your fly speed increase by 30 ft and you gain two Aerial Ace maneuvers of 1st level as Maneuver-Like Abilities. At 6 HD your fly speed once again increase by 30 ft and you gain an overland speed of five time your fly speed, you also gain two other Aerial Ace maneuvers, this time of 3rd level or lower as Maneuver-Like Abilities. At 12 HD you gain Wings of Thunder as a stance and two other Aerial Ace maneuvers, this time of 6th level or lower as a Maneuver-Like Abilities.

Living Monolith: You are a strong, unstoppable sphinx that will outlast the ages. You gain Improved Bull Rush and Improved Overrun as bonus feats and gain +2 hit points per Hit Dice. At 6 HD you gain Improved Charge and Barreling Charge as bonus feats. At 12 HD you gain Increase Size and Why Won't You Die as a bonus feat, you do not need to meet the prerequisites except HD prerequisites, in which case you get it the next time you meet the prerequisites.

Mystic Sage: You are a great wise sage of riddles and ancient knowledge. You gain Bardic Knowledge as bard of your character level and you choose a spell 1st level on the sorcerer/wizard spell list, you may now use this spell as a spell-like ability at will. At 6 HD you may choose a spell or 2nd level or lower from the sorcerer/wizard spell list or 1st level of any spell list and use it at will. At 12 HD you may choose a spell of 4th level or lower from the sorcerer/wizard spell list or 3rd level or lower from any other spell list and gain it at will.

Improved Bestial Hide (Ex): A 2nd level coastal sphinx paragon 's Bestial Hide increase by her class level. It is still halved if she wear any armor.

Rake (Ex): A 2nd level coastal sphinx paragon gain Rake using the same damage as her claws.

Heroic Ability (Ex): A coastal sphinx paragon of 3rd level choose an heroic ability from the list below:

Battle of Wits (Ex): As a swift action once per encounter you may give an extremely difficult riddle yo an opponent that can hear and understand you, the creature may attempt to solve it or ignore it. If it ignore it your next attack deal 1d6 extra damage per HD against this creature. If it attempt to solve it, the creature must make an Intelligence check DC 10 + your Intelligence or Wisdom modifier. If it fail the creature take the penalty as if it ignored the riddle and you may make an immediate melee attack against it, you may even make a partial charge on the spot. If the creature succeed however you take 1d4 daunt levels.

Heroic Counterspell (Sp): You gain greater dispel magic as a spell-like ability usable each 1d4 round, you may use it to counterspell as an immediate action.

Hurricane Wings (Ex): You gain the Armored Wing Stance and gain the ability to unleash a small hurricane with your wings. As a standard action, by flapping your wings extremely hard you can create a powerful gust of wind, functionally this work as a Breath Weapon in 30 ft cone which deal 1d4 bludgeoning and slashing damage per HD with a Reflex save for half. You may make a free Bull Rush against all creature caught in the cone (use the same result against all creature), you do not move alongside with them and if they are both pushed and fail their Reflex save they also fall Prone. The save DC is Constitution-based and it may be used each 1d4 rounds.

Pounce (Ex): A 4th level Coastal Sphinx Paragon gain Pounce. If she already had pounce or later gain it permanently she gain a [Fighter] bonus feat she meet the prerequisites of.

Size Increase (Ex): A 5th level Coastal Sphinx Paragon greatly increase in size, she gain Increase Size as a bonus feat. If she did not meet the prerequisites she gain it whenever she next meet them and she do not take a Dexterity penalty from the feat.

Greater Bloodline: A 6th level Coastal Sphinx paragon's bloodline now match the true power of sphinxes.

Androsphinx: You can prepare and cast spell as a Cleric of half of your character level, it replace and use the same rule as the Androsphin's bloodline ability.

Criosphinx: All of your natural attacks deal damage as if they were one size category larger and you gain a [Fighter] bonus feat you meet the prerequisites.

Gynosphinx You may use the following spell-like abilities: at-will- see invisibility, 3/Day- clairaudience/clairvoyance, locate object, dispel magic, remove curse, legend lore. The save DCs are based on your highest mental ability score. Once per week a gynosphinx can create a symbol of death, a symbol of fear, a symbol of insanity, a symbol of pain, a symbol of persuasion, a symbol of sleep, and a symbol of stunning as the spells, except each symbol remains a maximum of one week once scribed. The save DCs are based on your highest mental ability score.

Hieracosphinx: You may use Demoralize Opponent as a free action on all creatures affected by your shriek and you gain a [Fighter] bonus feat you meet the prerequisites.
