You cause a burst of extremely cold liquids and gasses to inundate the spell's area. All creatures in the area take 1d8 cold damage (maximum of 20d8) per level, a successful Reflex save halves this damage. A creature that fails it Reflex save also become partially frozen, becoming Immobilized, unable to attack or perform somatic components, and vulnerable to bludgeoning damage. This effect lasts for 1d4 rounds, but immediately ends if the creature takes 10 or more bludgeoning or fire damage, or if the creature succeeds a DC 15 Strength check as a full-round action to free itself. The cryogenic cold of this spell is capable of freezing foes otherwise immune to cold solid. A creature that fails it Reflex save is still trapped in ice, even if it is immune to the cold damage.
Any creatures slain by this spell are frozen into stiff statues. The body can be used as cover if the creature died standing up, has 2 hit points per HD it previously had and a hardness of 5, which is bypassed by bludgeoning damage. The statue of an unusually sized opponent has its hit points to double for each size category it was above medium (double for large, triple for huge, etc) and halves for each category it was below medium. The body thaw naturally, allowing for raise dead to function unless it was shattered.
