Degeneration[edit]

While under a degenerative effect, characters quickly lose health as their HP plummets. This is a catch-all term for things that do damage over multiple rounds, such as the effect of cutting winds as sharp as razors, being assailed by a torrent of acid, being immolated by a raging fire, being electrocuted by a stream of lightning, or even bleeding out. While suffering this effect, a character loses hit points equal to their maximum number of hit dice at the beginning of each of their turns.
