Desert Nomad's Garb[edit]

These full-body robes of beige or white fabric are padded with an underlay of sturdy textile, and are a choice equipment of the nomads and warriors from the Sand Sea.

  1. If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time.

A desert nomad's garb consists of a light-colored robe that clads the entire body and is held in place with a cloth waistband. Underlays consist of pressed and glued-together linens to provide a modicum of protection. The hands and the face are unarmored, but the garb contains a cloak and padded shoes made to navigate both uneven, hard ground as well as loose soil and sand. The desert nomad's garb is always masterwork; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

The desert nomad's garb provides the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities.

  • You gain the ranger's Camouflage ability in desert areas and natural environments of similar color.
  • You can move at normal speed across any sand. You are unaffected by any difficult terrain involving sand and similar loose underground and gain a +4 bonus to any saving throws against effects based on sand.
  • You count as having level 2 heat protection or your existing level of heat protection increases by +2 (see Protection against Heat, Sandstorm pg. 14).
