Discipline Dabbler

You've dabbled in one of the psion's disciplines, and picked up a power. Unfortunately, the mental stress of reaching out across disciplines taxes your mind.

Benefit: Choose a psionic discipline. You add the discipline powers as powers you can select on your normal list, even if you don't have that discipline.

Drawback: Due to the additional neural pathways that your mind has had to forge, you tend to burn out much faster than other psionic characters. When you manifest a power, you must pay an additional power point. This power point does not count against the maximum number of power points spent per power (normally based on your manifester level). Upon reaching ML 5 and every four ML hence, the number of power points that much be spent in addition to the normal cost increases by one, up to a maximum of an additional five power points at a manifester level of 17.
