Endothermic Extinguisher[edit]

Held inside a pressurized tank, when released it sprays a chilling mist which snuffs flame.

The chemicals used in an endothermic extinguisher are gaseous and held within a pressurized container. When sprayed the combination of expanding gas and endothermic chemical reaction chills the air, and robs any fire of oxygen it would use to burn. While effective at snuffing fire, care must be taken as the threat of cold damage and suffocation is present for any creatures in the area. When used as a standard action the extinguisher emits a 20 ft line of mist that deals 2d6 points of non-lethal cold damage with a DC 15 Fortitude save for half, and leaves an obscuring mist in its area of effect for 1 round. Natural fires in the area are snuffed due to lack of oxygen, and creatures cannot breathe. Not usually a problem, but continuous spraying can deny the same area or creature the ability to breathe and the creature may begin to suffocate. You may make a dispel check against magical fires with a effective +1 caster level.

A single tank has enough spaying power for 10 uses before needing to be refilled with the proper agents. The tank and sprayer itself weighs 4 lbs, with minimal weight from the chemical stock it holds.

Craft (Alchemy) DC 20. Market Price 500 gp.
