Eye-Catching Toast

This slice of toast looks especially delicious. Why, it smells especially delicious. I bet it would taste wonde- OH GOD MY EYES MY EYES IT HAS MY EYES!!!!

Cursed items from Eijilund are the worst, because you never know what to expect. Take the eye-catching toast. Please. It is a piece of toast which is technically a creature that has a very small but nonzero chance of spawning whenever any toast-based meal is prepared in certain cursed areas. It can look like anything... normal toast, french toast, dire toast, milquetoast, ghost toast, half-dragon toast, and all sorts of other kinds, and it always appears to be the most delicious toast you have ever seen in your life.

But as soon as someone goes to eat said piece of toast, it happens.

The creature must make a Fortitude save DC 15 + 1/2 their HD, or lose their eyes becoming permanently blinded and taking 1d6 points of Con damage. The eyes just implode, and appear on the toast in question staring accusingly. And yet in spite of the horrifying scene before them, any creatures which witness this act must make a Will save (same DC) or be compelled to try and eat the toast next. It usually ends up in a room full of eye-less people and a toast covered in eyes. In the rare chance someone actually manages to eat it (or attacks it) it turns out to have hardness 20 and 40 hp. Whenever it feels it is in danger, or when its dark deed is complete, it plane shifts off to parts unknown to deliver the collected eyes to its cruel toasty masters. The toast can be considered a construct with Str -, Dex -, Con -, Int -, Wis 10, and Cha 1, and it has AC 13 (-5 dex, +8 size) as a fine sized creature.

If eye-catching toast is discovered beforehand, it can be slain by casting a remove curse spell on it, reverting it to normal (and very delicious) toast. Eye-catching toast does not animate or make any attempts to plane shift and escape until it has successfully obtained at least one set of eyes.

Prerequisites: No aura; Cannot be crafted.
