Gnawing Maggots
Conjuration (Summoning) / Transmutation [Animal]
Level: Blackguard 2, Druid 3, Sorcerer/Wizard 3
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One living creature
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: No
Spell Resistance: Yes

It is unsure whether the cleric yelled from pain or fright as countless swarming maggots erupted from within his flesh, staining his blessed armor red with gross amounts of his blood.

You conjure a ray of seeping reddish miasma and hurl it at your target as a ranged touch attack. If the attack hits, the target's skin instantly sprouts countless maggots that wriggle about and bite away at the flesh, instantly causing 2d4 points of bleed with an additional +1 for every 3 caster levels over 5th.

The maggots continue to writhe and bite away at the target's body for the spell's duration, which is incredibly painful. The target is sickened, and whenever the target attempts to cast a spell or use another class ability component, he must make a Concentration check (DC 10 + your caster level) or lose the spell or ability. While the gnawing maggots remain, the target does not naturally recover bleed over time and furthermore takes 2 additional points of bleed every subsequent round until the spell ends.

A restoration or remove disease spell can remove the effects of this spell. It is possible to remove the maggots ahead of time with the help of a source of fire, like a torch, but in so doing a full-round action is expended and the target takes 1 point of fire damage. Being the target of a damaging fire spell or effect will also end the spell.

Material Component: A clutch of bloodied offal.
