Gorgonzola's Gaze [Monstrous] She stood, hip out, leaning on the railing of the veranda, wearing a blue-trimmed satiny gown and hood. She carried a little sun parasol to shade herself from the blaze of the midday sun. A scent of salty musk wafted through the air. She spoke softly, drinking her wine, bemoaning the life of an isolated countess. My peon traveling companion blurted out something about her probably being a vampire. She heard and laughed. I knew she wasn't a vampire, that would be too obvious, and our DM would never do something so classically simp… oh great goo grum! She turned my hireling into a statue! A statue made of cheese! He cost me 1 silver per day!Prerequisites: Eyes, Not BlindBenefit: You gain a gaze attack with a Fortitude save to resist (DC 1 + 1/2 your ECL + your Charisma modifier) with a range of 30 feet. Upon a single failure against the gaze, a creature begins to smell of cheese. After two failed saves, the target gains blue veining on the surface of its body and begins to turn a pale hue. After three failed saves, the target becomes an animated object (made of cheese, hardness 1, and is still subject to the effects of Gorgonzola's Gaze) of its size acting under its own will… despite being mindless and can no longer speak or use Intelligence-, Wisdom- or Charisma-based skills or abilities. Failing a fourth and final save causes the creature to become an inert non-magical statue of cheese. Creatures with souls may decide to have their souls depart at this time, rendering them dead. Otherwise, souls remain trapped within the cheese. Spells and abilities that reverse petrification also restore a creature turned to inanimate cheese to life once again (though, they return to the animated-cheese stage first).

After an hour, a still-living creature may take a special Fortitude save at the same DC to stave off the effects of the gaze one step. Failure or success, the target must wait an hour before being allowed another save to return to normal, well, as normal as characters are going to get in a game with cheese gazes. Special: Gorgonzola's Gaze may be "turned off" at will. Saving against this gaze with a natural 20 allows a target creature immunity against it for 24 hours.
