Heat-Draining Strike
Dire Winter (Strike) [Cold]
Level: 3
Prerequisite: One Dire Winter maneuver
Initiation Action: Standard
Range: Melee Attack
Target: One creature or object
Duration: Instantaneous and 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Fortitude Negate (see text)

With a simple touch, or a proper strike, you can use your weapon as a medium to drain the heat out of your target.

As your weapon make contact with your foe, you drain a fantastic amount of heat out of them instantly. Your attack deal an additional 4d6 cold damage and the struck creature shaken for 1 round. You may deliver this strike as a touch attack with your hand or a discipline weapon (using it reach if applicable), if you do you do not deal weapon damage.

Additionally, the struck creature must make a Fortitude save or lose any heat-based extraordinary or supernatural ability (such as a salamander's heat ability) for the maneuver's duration.

If you use this maneuver to strike a weapon, you suppress all fire-based enhancement on it for the maneuver's duration. This does not function on a fire-based artifact.
