Some centuries later, a cargo ship heading to an Imperial outpost crash-landed on the shard, with all but three crewmembers lost. These remaining three reported a battle with strange elf-like creatures that came from the sea, killing any of the crew they found, without any sort of mercy shown.

After this report, the Empire built powerful ships that could dive beneath the waves, uncovering an entire kingdom of aquatic elves who were none too pleased with the intrusion. Shortly after, the powerful mages of the We'telesquor clan declared war on the humans, leading their people in an underwater struggle that still continues today.
