Luminous: On command, a luminous item glows like a candle, dimly illuminating a 5 foot square, or as brightly as a torch, shedding bright light in a 20-foot radius (and dim light for an additional 20 feet) or commanded off, shedding no light at all. When shedding bright light, this illumination counters darkness spells of an equal or lower level (as a 2nd level spell), suppressing both effects when their areas overlap.
Magical items that already shed light because of their initial enchantment may even be commanded to suppress their glow with this enchantment.
