The planet Sentia is home to a wide variety of both humanoid and non-humanoid life-forms, and, unlike in many game-worlds, one specific racial image does not reign supreme for the entirety of the game-world. Each race, like humanity on Earth, has unique cultures and lifestyles which may be vastly different.

Races of Sentia on Kalina[edit]

The following is a comprehensive look at the roles of different races across Kalina.

The Monarch Races:[edit]

There are many different factions across Kalina. Some of the prominent among them include Humans, Elves, Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves. These races are known as the "Monarch Races". the "High" or "Great" Races who have joined together in the human dominant Monarch Alliance. A Monarch Races is a race who have their own land, and have established themselves as Civilized races (based on the requirements of the already existing Monarch Alliance, leaving many races permanently un-invited guests. Despite having no kingdom or land of their own, Half-Elves are also considered one of the monarch races, although they still have to deal with the hassle of daily life in many places from both the Elven and Human societies. Even the halflings, known to be nomadic wanders have their own land and kingdom, with with numerous permanent stations camps, and gathering sites along the rivers and plains they are well known for travelling. Dragonborn qualify to be a Monarch Race, despite their monstrous appearance, but they do not consider themselves part of the Monarch system.

Dragonborn[edit]

Dragonborn are a race of proud and noble warriors, who appeared in Sentia after the Great Destruction, from the Volcano of Ikron. When the Volcano erupted, what was left was a lava covered landscape, scattering remnants of the previously hidden Dragonborn empire back into the world. Upon arrival, the dragonborn were feared and left alone to rebuild in solitude. Since that time, they have become one of the Greatest Monarch races, turning the ruins of their nation back into the great nation it once was, in the form of the Mighty Ikron Citadel, the capital of the Dragonborn province. They are considered to the sword of the nation.

Dwarves[edit]

Dwarves; strong, tough, wise, and very, very patient. Dwarves, while also being the foremost knowledge on weapon manufactury and metal-working, they are also some of the richest groups in Sentia. Old money, old rocks; Dwarves are investors, entrepreneurs, bankers, and congolemerates. The biggest families form the backbone of Sentia's economic industry--and industrial revolution--, as their innate understanding of metal, rocks, and the earth allow them rocket Sentia into the future. The alliance between Dwarves and Humans is said to be the oldest, and are thus considered an founder race of the Monarch Alliance.

Dwarf Races/Variants[edit]

Mountain, Hill (Gold), Shield, Gold, Deep Other Dwarves: Duergar (Gray or Dark Dwarves),Galehb Duhr, and Azer (Fire Dwarves).

  • UC Dwarves:
    • Hill or "Gold" Dwarf
    • Mountain Dwarf
    • "Shield Dwarf"

Elves (Elvenkind)[edit]

Elvenkind come in many different variants, thought most of them are slender, agile, and deadly.

Drow (Dark Elves)[edit]

See below

High-Born (Eladrin:Sun and Moon)[edit]

A proud and imperialistic people, High Elves strengthened the early grasp of the UC, causing its rise to power. Although most hate human politics, and are content to live out their years in comfort and power, many High Elves take advantage of their position, becoming politicians and living in what in the "humanity" that is the UC--or at least what's left of it.

Wanderers (Wild and Wood)[edit]

"Not all who wander are lost." Quiet. Agile. Proud.

Gnomes[edit]

Gnomes are crafty and intelligent. Gnomes are known to be eccentric, inquisitive, curios, sly, cunning, maniacal, charismatic, funny, enjoyable, and knowledgeable. Gnomes, along with Dwarves, and the backbone of the industrial-- and techmaturigcal revolution, combining their techmaturigcal breakthroughs with the raw material design of the Dwarves. A team of Gnomish and Dwarven scientists are accredited with the first mortal made mechaical construct. Gnomes and Dwarves are two closely knit races, with many of the same interests and desires, with some strange quirks that every once in a while get on each others nerves. Gnomes are also considered to be Descendants of the God (name). Gnomes and dwarves get along very well together, one gruff, one inquisitive and entertainment, and are commonly in a group together.

Halfling[edit]

Halfings are affable creatures who exist in nor Galad. Now that many of them have a home land, there are much less nomadic river or plains halfings, and more, "stay at home" haflings. Many are adventurer's as well.

Human[edit]

Humans are one of the most common and expansive races in Nor Galad. They are opportunistic, versatile, and widely considered one of the Oldest races on Nor Galad. Humans in Nor Galad get along fine with most other Monarch Races, but usually have superstitions about races not within the empires.

Uncivilized races[edit]

As long as there are civilized races there is always Uncivilized races. The Uncivilized races are races that are shunned by humanity, and usualy get a hard time no matter where they are. These races, by definition, are not Uncivilized, but shunned. Races that the governments of the world have declared evil and wild. these include: Half-Orcs,Gnolls,Shifters of all kinds,Wild elves,Barbarians, and Goliaths. Most see these "beasts" as animals to be tamed and sheltered, or hunted and killed.

Goliath[edit]

Goliaths are large, sturdy creatures descended from the earth. Once the brothers of the dwarves, they are now considered to be Giant-kin: In some places, Goliath nomads are very friendly with dwarves, trading with them, and speaking thoughts about the primal spirits. These places are usually outside of the empires as most dwarves inside the empire still hold fast to angry stereotypes against their cousins, Goliath.

Orc Kind[edit]

Full Blood Orcs[edit]

There are many "civilized" Orc tribes, kingdoms, and nations that exist in Nor Galad. The most prominent example of a civillized orc empire on the UC mainland would be the kingdom of Haburama, and independent nation on the eastern edge of the Wasteland, near some of the less populated dwarven and elven regions.

Half Orcs[edit]

Although shunned by more traditional orcs, and most humans, half orcs are generally accepted members of modern orc societies, as well as many "barbarian" villages and clans. Half-Orcs (and some orcs) exist in super secret organisations for their freedom, and their right to not have a bounty on their head. Many Orcs find a home in the Haburaman Kingdom.

Goblin Kind[edit]

Despite much killing of Goblins, there are many other Goblin Kind adventurers, both good and evil, that exist in Nor Galad. The most common type of good Goblin Kind are Blue Goblins (similar to the Blue Goblins from v3.5), a race of hyper intelligent and psionically talented Goblins. The majority of these blue goblins reside in the protective graces of the Orc Kingdom of Haburama. Many are scientists and researches in the kingdom. Although very rare, some Hobgoblins are "goodly", or at least as close to is they can get. Many Hobgoblins from the Land of Giants who have relocated to the UC, as well as many who resided there originally have forsaken much of their evil and controlling nature and have become seekers of wealth (they prefer the term adventuerers). The term "hero" is probably a better choice, but It still seems to be off limits to most Hobgoblins's mind. Many Hobgoblins act in both the combat and non combat roles of party leader: they can't relinquish all of their evil controlling heritage!

Forgotten Races[edit]

The fourth type of creatures are the Forgotten or Mysterious Races. Most of the creatures are also considered evil, but because they are considered Mysterious also, they are usually put up, for the sake of capturing and studying later. Some of these include: Drow,Changeling,Tiefling,Kalashtar, Deva, Genasi. Dragonborn used to be considered to be both one of the Evil and Mysterious type of races, but has shown that they are competent to be one of the "monarch races".

Deva[edit]

The Deva used to be treated as demi gods, and were given the uptmost respect in the UC. They were given armies to lead, secret artifacts, weapons- anything that would help them on their quest to enlightenment, or an other quest they happened to be on. Because of this positive influences, a huge number of Devas in the mortal plane quickly ascended. [(to the astral sea)] The downfall of this was the dwindling of the Deva population- it is now less than a third of what it used to be in the whole world. They don't increase very fast in numbers either; True Devas are only created every 50 years or so. Because of how rare Deva's now are, the failure of the Kings Of Old to write down information about devas (in visible places),and deep betrayal of many corrupted Deva (prominent among is the Deva/Rakhsaha who threatens Savoria and Darkon), the Devas are now considered to be Mysterious and Evil, and are usually met with defiance when asking for help. Most devas Usually are killed by misundersanding human, or put to death for some crime he/she probably didn't do. The deva's however hold no hate against the "monarch races"-Those that do transform into twisted Rakshasa. Many Devas travel to and stay in [reside in] Darkon and Savoria, where Deva's are welcomed enthusiastically, as well as the (japan continent) where they are (mostly) revered (although many of the same problems with corrupt devas exist), the Water Continent, and many other continents who accept them as normal citizens, or maybe have a minor distaste (many inhabitants of the Land of giants, moslty Yuan-ti dont' like them. Partly because they were one of the original driving forces between the paladins of the Silver Flame/Sun).

Drow[edit]

The drow, depending where you are in Nor Galad are considered to be either the most Evil creatures in Nor Galad, or the most loving you have ever seen. The drow on Sentia are split into three main races. The Malrath (the Dark Drow), Zora-Har'ol, The swamp drow, and the Anulo-Ra'a, the Sky Drow. There are also Wahventhac'zil, the wasteland drow: Also refered to as the xa'huuli drow, the trash drow. Also commonly known as the "Desert drow" who have much of the charicterstics of Drow in other campaigns, but above ground in the Wasteland, and much more vicious, cruel, devious, and....sometime merciful (for a price), as some adventurers may find out.

Living[edit]

Most drow live In the Shade Caverns of Nor Galad, a huge expanse of underground caverns running beneath The human kingdom of Durgoth.

Sentian Drow Clans[edit]

Anulo Ra'a[edit]

Anulo Ra'a originating from the word Sky; Ra'a being a name. Anulo Ra'a are a clan of Sky Drow in Nor Galad. They have broken free from the darkness of their evil cousins, and now reside peacefully in the skies of Nor Galad. The Anulo, the sky drow descended from the Clan Ra'a, an ancient clan of dark drow who pulled away from the Dark three, and were blessed by the (winged god), gaining small golden or silver wings, and different shades of skin. The wasteland drow were drow descended from the swamp lord, and the Three elders, Drow, Anulo Ra'a.

Wahventhac'zil/Xa'huuli (Wasteland/Desert Drow)[edit]

Originating from the word "Wahven" meaning waste, and "thac'zil" meaning land, or xa'huuli meaning trash.

Malrath (Dark Drow)[edit]

Originating from the word "Olath"; also a name.

Zora-Har'ol[edit]

Zora originates from the name Zora.

Tiefling[edit]

The tiefling are, for the most part, shunned by those in the United Continent--except for those who want to deal business on the Black Market. According to history the Tiefling people fell from power after making an deal with Asmodeous. Unable to take back the bargain, they were crushed by an unknown army rumored to be controlled by Asmodeous himself--led by the mysterious Shades of Ra-O and the "Gray Army." "G Some Tiefling clans still hold strong to ancient warrior traditions, living high in the mountains away from civilization. Mast Tieflings have migrated to the new Dragonborn kingdom, coming to odds with this long-time enemy.

There are many Tieflings within the Brotherhood of Warlocks. Some Tieflings, believeing their demonic power, actively seek out evil, deprevation and demonic energy , embracing darker urges and combining the darkest aspects of the UC's humanity run society and both demonic and Devilish Power.

Kalashtar[edit]

Monster Races[edit]

The "Monster Races" are not actually monsters. In fact, the Monster Races isn't an official race group at all, but a commonly accepted list of races that, simply put, shouldn't be accepted by society. There are no "true" monsters on the list, such as Nagas, Abominations, Wurgs, and the like, but rather a list of creatures that most people of the UENG (United Empires of Nor Galad), consider to be monsters that are dark and dangerous (and some call them "evil") that should be avoided and/or reviled by "normal" society members. Many fanatics exist, who try to rid the world of these races: they are the ones who started the unofficial list. Given the chance, many of these fanatics would try to kill, maim, injure, or even just bully members of the list. The Monster Races are mostly made up races from the so called, "Mysterious Races" and "Uncivilized Races". This is one of the examples of the Xenophobic nature of the people, pushed onto them by the ever controlling government. On the list of the Monster Races, there is smattering of misguided representations of the races as well, listing many of the races incorrectly. For instance, Goliath's are labeled as Giants. Many fanatics (of which there is a great deal)will try to kill these races on sight, usually committing more bloodshed than any of the "uncivilized tribes" ever would. Monster Races is more of a racial slur than anything else- calling a Tiefling "A bloody little monster" is quite common.
