Oola Ixa[edit]

The oola ixa ("little cloud") is a small, non-vital organ consisting of a cluster of interconnected nodules often found wrapped around or near the primary or hind liver in certain aberrations. It plays a role in regulating a creature's spell resistance.

When affected by a spell that allows spell resistance, a creature with an oola ixa is allowed an immediate Spellcraft check to identify it. Regardless of success or failure, the creature may choose to have its spell resistance apply against the spell or allow the spell to pass through. The oola ixa reduces a creature's spell resistance by 1 (to a minimum of 1). Spell resistance checks against a creature with an oola ixa that result in a natural 1 on the die roll fail to penetrate the creature's spell resistance.
