Painzerker

You're sluggish when you're healthy, but injury makes you a force to be reckoned with.

Benefit: Whenever you fall below half health, you gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls, saving throws and physical ability and skill checks. When you fall below 0 hit points, instead of assuming the dying condition you enter an involuntary rage as a barbarian of your level. If at the end of your rage you are still alive, you instantly fall unconscious for one hour or until natural healing restores you to positive hit points, whichever is longer. This trait can only induce rage once per day.

If you have levels in barbarian, this trait does not count toward your rages per day. As such, the painzerker rage also does not count towards the 1 per encounter limit of the rage class feature.

Drawback: Whenever you are above half health, you incur a -2 penalty to attack and damage rolls, saving throws and physical ability and skill checks. If you are at full health, the penalty becomes -4 and you stand a 50% chance to lose any action you take.

If you are above half health, you do not benefit from morale bonuses or effects that increase your aggression, such as the effects of heroism or a barbarian's rage.

Special: This trait counts as the Diehard feat for the purpose of meeting prerequisites.

Roleplaying Ideas: You're bored with living, and the only thing that can drive away that constant, nagging sleepy feeling is the sensation of pain.
