Philosopher's Stone[edit]

A strange and rare alchemical artifact, the philosopher's stone is highly sought after for it many properties. The Philosopher's Stone is a small round red stone with seamless flawless exterior. The stone is about twice as heavy as gold for it size and most stone are from 1 pound to 5 pound, with a few larger stone existing.

The Philosopher's Stone must be ground into fine powder. The grounded up powder is unstable and become inert after 24 hours, although nothing stop an alchemists from grounding parts of a philosopher stone. Five pounds of grounded up philosopher's stone can be used for the following:

  • It can be used to turn 5,000 pounds of iron into silver (worth 15,000 gp).
  • I can be used to turn 1,000 pounds of lead into gold (worth 25,000 gp).
  • It can be used to turn 500 pounds of common crystal into diamonds (worth 35,000 gp).
  • If applied to a living creature it remove all diseases and curses upon the creature (same strength as a wish spell).
  • If mixed with a cure potion it creates a special elixir of life that acts as a true resurrection spell for any dead body it is sprinkled upon. If it ingested by a living creature it rejuvenate it to a young adult and double it lifespan. The elixir last for 3 days before it become inert and useless.

The Philsopher's Stone must be created using carmot, a priceless element. If carmot is found and transmuted, each 2 pounds of carmot can be turned into 1 pound of philosopher stone with a DC 40 Craft (Alchemy) and 1 month of labor per pound transmuted.
