Rage Monk

You're an angry monk! Screw peace and harmony and feeling the flow of the universe, you're gonna rage out your ki so hard you break reality!

Class: Monk

Prerequisites: None

Level: 1-20

Replaces: Lose Abundant Step, AC Bonus (including Wis to AC), Diamond Body, Diamond Soul, Empty Body, Ki Strike, Perfect Self, Quivering Palm, Slow Fall, Still Mind, Tongue of the Sun and Moon, Wholeness of Body

Benefit: See below.

Alignment: The rage monk must be of non-lawful alignment.

Base Attack Bonus (Ex): Rage monks have full BAB, like a fighter.

AC Bonus (Ex): At 1st level you choose if you want to base your AC off Constitution or Charisma. If you pick Con, you gain your Con as a natural armor bonus to AC. If you pick Cha, you gain your Cha as a deflection bonus to AC. Unlike most AC, this stacks with other natural or deflection bonuses. You do not gain the normal scaling bonus to AC from the monk class. Effects such as Stunning Fist which normally go off Wisdom now go off either Con or Cha. Your AC bonus is limited to light armor or no armor instead of merely being unarmored as normal.

If you choose Con, the bonuses to Con provided by rage do not change your modifiers for your AC or the normally Wisdom powered abilities. Use your original abilities.

Rage: At 1st level you gain rage as a barbarian of your class level, including advancements to rage (greater and mighty rage) and tireless rage.

Damage Reduction (Ex): At 2nd level you gain half your class level as DR/magic. Once you reach 10th level, this becomes DR/adamantine and magic.

Too Angry to Fail (Su): At 3rd level, the rage monk may expend a rage attempt to gain a re-roll on any one saving throw they failed one round later. This is a non-action and may be taken even if the rage monk is incapacitated, such as being turned to stone or paralyzed and can even revert hp or ability damage/drain. It cannot be done if the rage monk's body has been destroyed. They must accept the results of the second roll even if it is lower than the original roll.

Masterwork Body (Ex): The 4th level rage monk gains Masterwork Body as a bonus feat. They may even apply material properties to their body by paying the cost of applying it as if light armor of their size or as a light weapon of their size for their unarmed strikes.

Focus Rage (Ex): At 5th level the rage monk can choose not to enter a rage at the beginning of an encounter. If they are reduced below 50% health from a higher amount and then rage, they gain a +2 bonus added to the bonuses granted by rage. If below 20%, the bonuses increase to +4.

Sidestep (Ex): At 5th level, the rage monk may make up to two 5 ft. steps a round. They are able to take an additional 5 ft step at 10th and every five levels beyond.

Irritated at Gravity (Su): At 6th level, the rage monk gains a hover speed (perfect) equal to their land speed.

Vigorous Rage (Su): Whenever the 7th level rage monk enters a rage, they heal hp and ability damage as if they had rested for 8 hours.

Angry at Gravity (Su): The 11th level rage monk is under the constant effect of air walk, except it can run straight up with no penalty to speed.

Abundant Walk (Su): At will at 12th level, the rage monk may use dimension door at will. You may also teleport as a move action, limited to a distance of half your movement speed. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunities.

Diamond Resistance (Ex): The 13th level rage monk is impervious to elements. He is always under the effects of adapt body, and halves all sources of energy damage before resistances.

Pounce (Ex): The 15th level rage monk gains the ability to make a full attack on a charge.

Death Throes (Su): The 17th level rage monk is so full of rage, if he goes he'll take everyone with him. As a non-action the rage monk who is brought to -10 hp may choose to explode, dealing 10 points of damage per HD to all creatures in up to a 60 ft radius (minimum 5 ft). There is a Reflex save for half, DC 10 + 1/2 HD + either Con or Cha, as chosen previously. This destroys the monk's body. However, the monk is also much easier to revive as their rage persists in death. They do not take any negative levels or penalties from being revived.

Ascended Rage (Ex): While you are in a rage, the 19th level rage monk can spend another rage per day to enter a state of ascended rage. They gain an additional +4 to the bonuses granted by rage, their speed doubles, and their appearance often changes to something glowing or demonic. However, this strains the body and they take their HD in lethal damage each round as their body starts falling apart. When the rage ends they immediately are rendered exhausted (even if they are otherwise immune) and cannot recover higher than fatigued, even by magic means, until they have rested for 8 hours.

Perfect Form: The 20th level rage monk becomes an Outsider (though they may still count as a member of their original type) and they are rendered biologically immortal. Their unarmed strikes bypass all forms of damage reduction (except DR/-) and a number of points of hardness up to their class level.

Pathfinder Version: A few abilities alter. 1/day rage is about equal to 4 rounds of rage. Vigorous Rage uses a minimum of 4 rounds of rage, if you rage for less rounds than that (meaning rage cycling it only works once every four rounds). Everything else should transfer normally.
