As he saw his fallen ally grow still, the Paladin knew he must act now or hold his peace. Leaping to his friend's aid, he raised his hand to the sky, gem dust clenched into his fist, as lightning spun around his hand. Slamming his hand onto the lifeless wizard's chest, the jolt brought him back to the land of a living with a gasp.

Adventurers often fall in their early days, when revival magic is scarce to non-existent, and one heavy blow can take a life forever. And even when you find a priest to revive the target, they're never the same afterwards, often left weakened, memories stripped from their mind by the trauma. This spell, developed by a wizard-priest after discovering electricity's ability to affect corpses, is designed to revive an ally the moment they fall, preventing the need to find a priest to revive them to poorer shape than when they died.

This spell can only be cast on a dead target that has died within 1 round per 2 caster levels (Max 5 rounds). It restores the creature to life, and heals the target for 1d8 points of damage, +1 per caster level (Maximum +5). This, in most cases won't revive the target above 0hp, but will stabilize them regardless of the amount of healing they receive from it.

However, the shock of dying and the literal shock of the spell send the target's system into, you guessed it, shock; And the strain of the spell has a similar effect on the caster. This results in both the target and caster being Staggered for 1 round as well as Exhausted.

Material Component: Amber, diamond and sunstone worth at least 100gp per HD of the target.
