Royal Knight

A Royal Knight is a Paladin who pledge themselves to a mortal ruler instead of higher powers and ideals.

Class: Paladin or Antipaladin

Level: 1st

Replaces: Code of Conduct

Benefit: A Royal Knight gain the following code of conduct instead of her normal code of conduct.

Code of Conduct: A royal knight follows her monarch's words rather than the edict of gods. A paladin swears to follow a righteous king or queen while an antipaladin must serve their dark master. The Royal Knight's Code change to the following:

  • The royal knight must follow the edict of her monarch unless obviously harmful.
  • A royal knight cannot lie to her monarch unless not doing so could be harmful.
  • Must seek to honor her monarch and not stain her name. She cannot lie on any edict given to her by the monarch and speak her words clearly.
  • A paladin royal knight must advise her monarch to follow the path of good, honesty and honor.
  • An antipaladin royal knight must never fail her dark master, and if she does accept her punishment.

If she violate her code of conduct, the Royal Knight take a single Daunt level. This level cannot be removed in any way, except by her monarch after she confesses her failure. These daunt levels are cumulative, to up to half her class level. A Royal Knight must still maintain her alignment restriction for being a paladin or antipaladin and she loses all class feature except for proficiency if she betray her monarch.
