Since the first Eidolon was discovered, Shamans have been known as the most effective folks to call when it comes to dealing with malignant spirits, and many Shamans, often called Exorcists, specialize in this business as an easy way to build their skills, earn money, or gain rapport among the common folk. Whether it be a haunting, a possession, or a full-on invasion, when you have ghosts to bust, you call an Exorcist.

Shamans the choose the Bond of the Exorcist most often have Biped, Quadruped or Avian Eidolons, typically of the Celestial, Dragon, Fey or Undead type.

Bond Spells[edit]

Beginning at 2nd level when you select this Bond, you learn the Sacred Flame cantrip, and you learn additional spells of 1st level and higher when you reach certain levels of this class, as shown on the Exorcist Spells table below. Each of these spells counts as a Shaman spell for you, but doesn't count against the number of Shaman spells you know.

You cannot use Bond Spells to Barter for a Retrieved spell, nor can you replace them upon gaining a Shaman level. Likewise, your Bond Spells are not affected by Restricted Casting, as they result from your connection directly to your Eidolon, rather than from your connection to the Other Side.

Supernatural Attunement[edit]

Beginning at 2nd level when you select this Bond, whenever you finish a Short or Long Rest, you may attune yourself to one of the following creature types: Aberration, Celestial, Construct, Dragon, Elemental, Fey, Fiend, Monstrosity, or Undead. Many of your Exorcist features only affect creatures of the type you are currently Attuned to.

At 14th level, you may select a second creature type from the list to Attune to. You are always considered to be Attuned to the Type that your Eidolon belongs to, in addition to any other type you Attune to with this feature.

Chastise Spirits[edit]

Beginning at 2nd level when you select this Bond, you gain the ability to disrupt the essence of spirits and unnatural creatures. In order to do so, you must have a druidic focus on your person and you must be able to present it.

As an action, you present your druidic focus, buffeting each eligible creature of your choice within 30ft of you. You must be able to see the chosen targets, and the chosen targets must be of a creature type you are Attuned to; Otherwise, the target is unaffected. Each eligible creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC.

On a failed saving throw, each selected target takes 2d10 points of Force damage, as its essence is partially banished from the Material Plane; This damage is increased by 1d10 against any creature that is of the same type as your Eidolon. A creature that succeeds the saving throw takes half as much damage.

The damage dealt by this feature improves as you gain levels in this class: To 3d10 at 5th level, 4d10 at 11th level, and 5d10 at 17th level.

At 2nd level, you may use this feature once, regaining the ability to do so when you finish a Short or Long Rest. Beginning at 6th level, you may use this feature twice between rests, and at 14th level, you may use it three times between rests.

Resonant Ward[edit]

Beginning at 6th level, you can ward an area against supernatural forces. As an action, you may designate a 30ft sphere centered on a point in space you can see within 120ft of you to be warded; Once placed, the ward manifests as an invisible, stationary orb of force, and remains for up to 1 minute, unless you dismiss it as a bonus action. A creature that is not of the creature types you are Attuned to may pass into or out of the sphere freely, as can you, your Eidolon, and any number of creatures that you designate upon creating the sphere.

Upon creating the warded sphere, you must select whether the warded sphere is a Shield or a Prison.

  • If the sphere is a Shield, each creature of your choice belonging to the creature types you are Attuned to that are within the area of the sphere when it is created is forcefully shunted to the nearest unoccupied space outside the sphere's area. No creature of those types can enter the sphere, nor can they Charm, Frighten or Possess any creature within the sphere, though creatures of those types within the sphere may exit.
  • If the sphere is a Prison, each creature of your choice belonging to the creature types you are Attuned to that are within the area of the sphere when it is created is entitled to a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, they remain within the sphere; On a successful save, they may immediately move up to half of their movement speed to the nearest unoccupied space outside the sphere's area. No creature of those types may exit the sphere, nor may they Charm, Frighten or Possess any creature outside the sphere, though creatures of those types outside the sphere may enter.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a Long Rest before you may do so again.

Disrupt The Supernatural[edit]

Beginning at 6th level, whenever a creature of CR 1/2 or less fails its saving throw against your Chastise Spirits ability, you can choose for the creature to instead be instantly destroyed.

The maximum CR of creature that can be affected by this ability is increased when you reach certain levels in this class: To CR 1 when you reach 9th level, to CR 2 when you reach 12th level, to CR 3 when you reach 15th level, and to CR 4 when you reach 18th level.

Stand Against The Night[edit]

Beginning at 14th level, your soul is so suffused with disruptive energy that the supernatural creatures you exorcize have a difficult time bringing you harm. This grants you two benefits:

  • You gain a +2 bonus to AC against attacks made by creatures of the types you are Attuned to. This increases to +3 against creatures belonging to the same type as your Eidolon.
  • You gain a +2 bonus to saving throws against effects inflicted by creatures of the types you are Attuned to. This increases to +3 against creatures belonging to the same type as your Eidolon.

Master Exorcist[edit]

At 18th level, you are considered to be Attuned to all the creature types listed in your Supernatural Attunement feature.

Additionally, when you roll initiative, you regain one expended use of Chastise Spirits, up to your maximum number of uses.
