1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

A longspear with a jagged and very sharp head, it is part longspear and part glaive. The design of the hooks and the slender blade look like it could do some severe damage to unarmored skin.

The shred spear is named for the terrible damage it does on bear flesh. It can function as both longspear and glaive, and shares Weapon Focus and other weapon-specific abilities with both. To those not proficient, they may use it as a longspear as a simple weapon. Those with proficiency can unlock its true potential.

Each hit with the weapon deals a number of pounds of 1d4 bleedout damage. This bleed is multiplied on a critical hit. You also gain the following abilities:

Blood Fang: As a full attack action you may make a single attack, dealing twice as much bleed damage as normal. If you get a successful Bleedout from this attack, you take away 40% of their health instead of 20%. If this kills them, the body is considered mauled and unsuitable for revival through raise dead.

Hook and Sink: If you hit a mounted creature with the shred spear, they must make a Ride check equal to the damage dealt or be thrown off their mount and prone.

Skin Ripper: As a standard action you may make a single attack. Instead of bleed damage, you instead damage a number of points of natural armor equal to the bleed you deal. The damage lasts until healed, and it is healed as if it were ability damage one a 1 for 1 basis. Immunity to ability damage is not immunity to this effect, and you cannot reduce a creature beyond 0 natural armor.

The shred spear's design gives it a +2 on disarm checks.

A shred spear has reach. You can strike opponents 10 feet away with it, but you can’t use it against an adjacent foe. If you use a ready action to set a shred spear against a charge, you deal double damage on a successful hit against a charging character.
