1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

The spinning spear is a slender longspear, often with tassels tied at either end. They are often made for ceremony and weapon demonstrations, but military versions have been created. For those with martial weapon proficiency, this is merely a slightly lighter weight longspear. Like a longspear, it has reach. For those with Exotic Weapon Proficiency they gain several tactical feats available to them.

Lunging Overrun: You may make an overrun attempt without provoking attacks of opportunity. If a creature does not avoid you, you may make an attack with the spear as a free action and continue forward if you knock them prone. If you have Improved Overrun feat, this attack deals twice as much damage.

Pole Jumper: If used as part of a jump, you gain a +10 bonus on your jump checks and your height is not limited by your size.

Spinning Spear Style: The titular style associated with this weapon is spinning spear, allowing it to be used as a double weapon much like a quarterstaff. In this state it deals bludgeoning damage and does not have reach, though the wielder may switch between normal stance and spinning spear style as a free action. In addition, they are counted as not having their hands full for the purposes of interacting with the Deflect Arrows feat, and the exotic weapon proficiency feat counts as Improved Unarmed Strike for the purposes of pre-requisites to gain Deflect Arrows.

Whirlwind Swirl: You gain the Whirlwind Attack feat while using this weapon. If you already have Whirlwind Attack, you may make a full attack instead of a single attack. This form deals bludgeoning damage and does not have reach.

You can make trip attacks with the spinning spear. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the spinning spear to avoid being tripped.

Those with Exotic Weapon Proficiency may use the spinning spear as a finesse weapon, even though it isn't a light weapon.

Any feats and abilities which apply to either quarterstaffs and spears apply to the spinning spear.
