While the thought of anything that could curbstomp a god with practically zero effort rubs me the wrong way, I have to admit that the abominations have a good reason to be the way they are. They also have the potential to be made into very interesting-to-fight monsters (the Engineer of Ruin being a standout example in my mind). The main thing I don't like, I guess, is that in any fight against an abomination, the cleric or druid almost instantly becomes deadweight. Sure, clerics can still heal (and druids can also do so, to a lesser extent), but the bane property thing means that the cleric may end up very dead very quickly. That's just plain frustrating.
