While slightly dull, it's a fine, if bland, domain in a theme which hasn't been done before. I agree with Cid several spells are overleveled but disagree this is worth a dislike. Overleveled or not, things like Control Plants and Elemental Swarm are at 8 and 9, and there are still DMs who play this straight or who aren't comfortable with homebrew which sticks Polar Ray or another high level spell at low level. I have to come at this with the mind that it's not me who is taking this, but many people with various opinions. In any case, Create Water at will is funny but rather dull. Surely there's something more crop-tastic to use. A semi-strong domain power seems appropriate for its underwhelming spell list. That, and more fluff. Add some of that.

I am personally of the opinion that some of the spells here are not at the levels for which they are appropriate. Heroes' feast, for example, I think is more of a level 4. Elemental Swarm is definitely not a level 9, nor is control plants even close to being worthy of an 8 or animal growth a 6 as far as I am concerned. As a result of having so many spells that are probably overleveled or what have you, I cannot condone use of this domain. EDIT: Since I stated spells weren't worth their level, it's only fair if I say what I think their levels should be so that may rating is not incomplete: Elemental Swarm (6) Control Plants (3) Animal growth (3)

Discrepancy

Earth in the form of soil – which dirt presumably counts as – certainly is. Earth in the form of stones, precious metals, or gems; any of which an earth elemental can consist of, certainly is not. Ideasmith (talk) 17:02, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
