It both too complicated and cheap. I don't think it should be spyglass expensive, but 17 gp for turning your crossbow full-auto is really really cheap. In the base game quickloading is a +1 or something I believe.

This is kind of required for a crossbow build without going through absurd feat taxes, and there were reloading tools that significantly sped up the reloading of a crossbow, for example, the Goat's Foot lever.

While some may argue that this is overpowered due to it removing the need for a feat, I'd argue that the original feat should never have been a thing. Sure, it makes sense for crossbows to need a time to reload, but crossbows are currently, RAW, completely useless compared to a bow or a throwing weapon. So, I think this is good. The advanced tool might be difficult to justify to some GMs, since it takes the most powerful crossbows and turns them into free-reloads. --Locke (talk) 16:54, 17 January 2019 (MST)

Price[edit]

I agree with Leziad that the price is a bit high. Maybe make it 100gp~ or so? While expensive early-game, it's a small price to pay to make a viable crossbow build. --Locke (talk) 20:06, 18 January 2019 (MST)
