Bone the action economy super hard. Especially since it not limited in numbers.

I'd suggest making it more like Spiritual Weapon at the very least: require a move action to get it attacking a target. Otherwise, as you noted, the action economy is boned horribly. 32k per +1 dancing spiked chain is going to allow about 10 of these in addition to the standard other magic equipment at level 20. --Aarnott (talk) 16:39, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
I agree with the above statements. This is not simply a dancing weapon. Using this is like giving yourself two turns per round. This article should definitely be revised. --Sulacu (talk) 19:10, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I agree with all of this to a certain degree. How about changing the activation action to a swift? This makes my previous reservation about dancing weapons still covered (it's not a standard and doesn't take half your turn) while still making it so that you can only do one dancing weapon per round or so (unless you have something that lets you spam swifts, of course). If that's not enough, the duration can be cut down to a couple of rounds or so (hell, it could be one round, but then you have to constantly use your swift to get it, which may not be all bad), so you can't have the tons of dancing weapons that everyone has referenced. - TG Cid (talk) 02:01, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Nevermind, I signed off on the changes Ghosty made. - TG Cid (talk) 15:33, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
