| An interesting invocation when expended into a blast, unsure how I feel about the increase in damage but it should be fine. I like the rather interesting and interactive kill mechanic.
Question though, can you apply essence/shape when using the orbs as a blast? If so what happen if you say fire them in a AoE (such as eldritch spear), do you heal multiple time? |
Answer time! When you expend it, it's expended as an eldritch essence, which is stated in its description (Second paragraph, first sentence). So yes, it can be used with blast shapes, but not with other essences. When you blast with an AoE, you heal for the total damage done, though there is a limit for how much you can heal and how much over-healing can be added as temp HP, so it's more productive to save your extra orbs if you don't need all the extra healing.
When I built it, I had it in mind to use with Spanambula's invocation adaptation of the Eldritch Claws feat, and my Blades Of Vanquished Armies and Eldritch Shield invocations, to build a melee tank Warlock. Hope this was helpful.~ Zhenra-Khal (talk) 18:58, 7 December 2016 (MST)
