Criticism[edit]

That will DC needs to scale or this flaw is completely worthless at mid levels. I'd suggest DC 15 + 1/2 CR of the person assisting you (if you want to person to try to take out bigger targets to prove he never needed the help) or 15 + Your CR - 1/2 Helper's CR (if you want them stabbing the little guys to steal all of the credit, but not picking fights with the bigger guys). Either way you're just as likely to be bit by this flaw later on as you are at level 1. - TarkisFlux 18:43, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

I don't think this is a good idea for a flaw for a couple of reasons; first, a flaw should have only mechanical (not RP) impacts upon one's character, should be harmful to one own's character (rather than others), and shouldn't disrupt the game. Furthermore, "helping" is very vague--is handing someone an apple helping them eat? What about showing them the way to the bathroom? Pushing them out of the way so they don't get hit by a carriage or w/e? Etc --Ghostwheel 22:29, October 15, 2009 (UTC)
+1. This is old too, any chance we can get our hands on this and fix it? -- Eiji-kun 09:42, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Don't see why not. Want to request to adopt it, give it two weeks to see if there are any objections, and then take it over? - Tarkisflux Talk 18:23, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Sure, I've been on a flaw-motif recently, let's see what I can do. Maybe I'll rename this "The Starscream". -- Eiji-kun 20:51, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
(EDIT: Pre-edit concept for The Starscream: You have a urge to take over things when you see weakness. You don't go out of your way to directly attack allies, but you must save or not help allies in need while gloating how you're going to take over their position. You're known untrustfulness gives a -2 penalty to diplomacy, gather information, and bluff. DC is a scaling one, 15 + 1/2 HD.) This one is still kind of harmful to allies, but only indirectly through your lack of action. -- Eiji-kun 22:28, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
