The Edge is a mechanic used in Tome games in which the person with the highest Base Attack Bonus has an advantage over other combatants, gaining certain benefits that can be acquired through feats, class features, etc. Normally, you have the Edge over someone if your BAB is greater than theirs, but certain conditions (such as the one in this class) allow you to have the Edge over someone even if you do not meet this criteria.
