Planar Traits[edit]
Is this a plane? If not, why does it have planar traits? If you want to keep the effects, call them Environmental traits. Also, why are magic and psionics impeded? And why are these cities positive energy dominant? And finally, when you have information in parenthesis, you generally have a space between it and the word that preceded it. So Knowledge (Xeno-) instead of Knowledge(Xeno-). I'll have a full impression later, but until I get answers to these questions, I cannot give a rating good or bad to this, since I don't understand some of the choices made. --Havvy 18:23, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, this is a plane... Depends on your definition of a plane. The Cities were not created by a divine being, nor any super power. Touching more along the lines of science - a science long forgoten that is. With this in mind, the psionic, magic, and energy dominance were all enginered. Primarily due to thier inhabitance phobia. The Point to the Star Ship's Existence[edit]
Consider, for a moment, that this Star Ship exists in a world in which level 13 casters occasionally choose to transport people anywhere they want to go. Now, obviously, this makes the Star Ship City a little bit inferior as a transportation mechanism. Thus, there must be a different use for it. I recommend stealth. Since it's a spaceship, it can do what few casters bother to do: hang out in the endless void, drifting from place to place in an unpredictable manner. TG Cid unfortunately pointed out that discern location will make all such stealth efforts void. Your Star Ship City serves no particular purpose at the moment, then, other than to be a sitting duck for any crack team of teleporting Locate City Drainers/Bombers that happen by. --Foxwarrior 19:16, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- The same can be said of Sigil, or many other cities. The point is, is that it is a city that is in space. There have to be people who want to live in space for many reasons. This allows them to do so. Drifting randomly place to place makes a nice living for some people. --Havvy 05:41, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- One would assume that the leader or organizers of a Star Ship City would provide some particular reason for people to be there. Ideology? Economics? -- Aelaris 16:49, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- If it is ideology, then the DM can make up the ideology. See this more as a "This is what cities in space look like" kind of article. Unless this is meant to be a specific example of a city in space. Then yeah, a specific reason would be useful. --Havvy 05:29, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Initally, I had intended for this to be an envirment for non-magical campains. And campains that did not go far beyond the modern perspective. In which case, teloportng classes (and the like) would not work. For people who don't like the common asumptions of dnd.

List of Faults and Solutions[edit]
Obviously much needs doing with this page and sub-pages. Perhaps it gets a bit to detailed - reaching for what I no longer have time to fully explain. I just need a list of faults - and ways to improve them. Please understand I cannot spend as much time as before on this site. - I admit I haven't spent much time with this page, but one thing stood out after looking it over. It seems to be a lot of lists, lacking fluff or descriptive text or a reason for me to care about it. Probably the first thing I would do here is write a paragraph per section, if not more, to introduce them and get a reader interested in what the section is there for. I don't know what being in the first or third caste even means, for example, so spending page space on it seems like a missed opportunity or just really weird.
- As for the subpages, most of the deleted ones are just headers, lacking substantive content of any sort. I think I would probably not worry about recreating them, especially if you are running into other time pressures, and instead focus on providing a general guideline for each sector on this page. You could collapse the Commerce page into a few paragraphs about each of the facilities and provide some vague bonus guidelines and not lose much IMO. - Tarkisflux Talk 01:00, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- 1: Removed subpages, and fluffed them. (I cannot get the final table to work. I was trying to get the picture place to the left of table, in all fields.)
- 2: Destroyed all the standings and casts - yet left the descriptions of relative relations.
- 3: Will get an intro paragraph, for article, in shortly. (I have had trouble in the past trying to not repeat something lower down.)
- 4: Do you know of any better pictures?
- 5: Right now there are only 3 tables left. And there is a intro paragraph to two.
- What else needs fixing? Only the Cosmopolis Dock is finished because, I want feedback before putting time in any of the other docks. Also, I will add a core floor-plan shortly, with where each district is located. Thank you --Franken Kesey 02:41, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
