This...looks like a base class, not a prestige class. --68.187.81.126 19:23, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Seconded. - TG Cid (talk) 03:57, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Thirded. Should I move this? -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:11, 9 November 2017 (MST)

Delete?[edit]

This is basically a retread of the Jester (3.5e Class), with only minor changes to the spell progression and fluff as far as I can tell. Fluff only changes and an extra low level spell at higher levels do not seem sufficient to warrant retention. I wanted to discuss it before I removed it though. Is there something I'm missing? - Tarkisflux Talk 22:52, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Rebuttal:
This is not for others unless they want it, it is for my players to use and have easy access, as their DM, I have given them this to work with based on the character of Gwynplaine from a 1928 silent movie AND the inspiration for the comic book character of 'The Joker' in 1939, I got some ideas from a Jester, yet the 'Jester' himself is little more than a Rogue/Bard as a single class definition, with some minor alterations & "Fluff", I believe my 'Joker' is far enough separate past a "Variation" & since it is for my group of 63 players over 5 different campaigns (and growing), it will significantly supplies a large enough traffic to the http://dnd-wiki.org/ site to warrant allowing it.
I don't believe variant class warrant deletion anyway (which it seem to be). But shouldn't this be a base class instead of a prestige class? --Leziad (talk) 02:28, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
I'm down with keeping it, though maybe there should be a link to the original on the bottom or something. It should be moved to base class (can leave a redirect for the folks who already have the link to it). It's a real shame that the wiki format doesn't allow for git/mercurial-style "forking" like this -- that would be really useful for cases like this! Surgo (talk) 03:38, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
I am with Tarkis as far as thinking that this is basically a copy-pasta Jester. Aside from a few benefits/penalties tossed into the weapon proficiencies section (not all of which had anything to do with that section, for the record), there pretty much seems to be nothing different from the Jester, which means that the same Rogue/Bard definition applied to the Jester also applies to this and therefore there seems to be little grounds on which to keep this as a separate page unless meaningful changes are made beyond a name change, double Dex to AC, bonuses/penalties to attack rolls and initiative outlined in Weapon Proficiency. There's really just that little that is different. - TG Cid (talk) 04:06, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Wasn't trying to offend Jhewitt3476, I just did not see any differences other than the skill points, hit die, spell progression, and the descriptive sections (the 'fluff'). Are there other differences I've missed?
In any event, I'll retract the delete request and remove the delete template. - Tarkisflux Talk 04:09, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
