Problem[edit]

"you may opt to take a penalry on all attack rolls you make this round a if you were two weapon fighting, and make an aditional off hand attack at your highest attack bonus as part of the mauever. " The penalties involved vary with weapon which is in your "other hand". Since that doesn't apply here, what are the penalties? -2? -4? Something else?

Sorry for the late response, i have unfortunately no means and time to participate in dnd sessions as of late, so i visit the site only occasionaly :/. The penalty is "as if you were two weapon fighting", so -2 with a light off hand and -4 with a one handed weapon in the off hand, as in the description of TWF. It is like Snap kick with offhand weapons for strikes. You can look at it as specialised two weapon training for strikes, at 2nd level the ranger may opt for TWF combat style and learn how to fight with two weapons for reals, not just strikes. - Sergejsvk (talk) 15:10, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

A bit of inspiration hit me while reading through the ACF. I'll tie disciplines to the styles, not a big change ranged will get Desert Wind, melee Tiger Claw. Diamond Mind and Shadow Hand will be common for both. Tiger Claw jumping maneuvers would be silly with ranged weapons, and Desert Wind can be an "arow enchanter" style archer. This would give me a chance to "fix" desert wind a bit by giving an electricity (or sonic) option on the style improvement. Sonic would be more powerfull i think a there is not much resistant/immune to it, it would make the fire option opsolete. Tho most of the things resistant to fire have all round elemental resistance, at least fire immunity will not be such a bother. And i think it needs a capstone, something shiny at level 20 for both styles a "Grand" style... i have no clue what yet. - Sergejsvk (talk) 16:16, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
