Looks good to me, we can probably drop the candidate for deletion; it has its place as a non-disarming high crit weapon with decent damage die.

It's perfectly ordinary and balanced. If the SRD didn't already have too many weapons with tiny distinctions between them, this would be a worthwhile addition.

I think this is a cool weapon. Even if it is not strong I think it still kicks butt.

Threat Range

Yeeeaaaah... 17-20 is an incredibly bad idea IMO. --Ghostwheel 17:09, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Strongly inclined to agree. Keen or Improved Critical and you have a 12-20 critical range. - TG Cid 17:33, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
Keep with standard 18-20, and also note that it cannot be disarmed since this IS a gauntlet of sorts. -- Eiji Hyrule 22:35, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
Or make it +10 vs disarm like a locked gauntlet- Name Violation

Equip time[edit]

Is this a standard action to draw and ready, or the typical move action? It is, as Eiji mentioned, something of a gauntlet, does that mean you have to strap it on, or otherwise ready it? It seems like it would certainly take longer than grabbing a short sword or rapier, as you have to slide your hand into the gauntlet (In case you didn't know, I have no idea how this weapon works in real life, I'm judging based on the image provided). --The Badger 00:17, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

While hardly the most realistic or normal example, Voldo uses katars, to which a pata is a sort of katar (and pata is one of his optional weapons). He has a very slashing style but I think in practice they were piercing weapons, something like a short sword on a gauntlet. It is either worn or held with a horizontal bar in the middle. -- Eiji Hyrule 00:33, February 14, 2010 (UTC)
So do you suppose sliding your hand into the gauntlet and drawing it wouldn't take any longer than grabbing the hilt of a longsword? It seems, to me, that shoving your hand in a pickle jar to arm yourself would take longer than picking up a stick (forgive my horrendous analogy). --The Badger 00:59, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Are you not supposed to? Silly billy. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 11:29, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Well, kinda? Not a lot of what I've posted is up to a quality that I'd consider good tbh lol.--Stryker (talk) 11:56, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
