Well well, this is a good monster!

I'd say you could add an advancement, increasing the psychic damage as you increase HDs (as if the swarm originated by a powerful psionic creature)

Adressing change[edit]

I guess it's fair how you did it. So you imagine encounters with multiple swarms, each attacking the same character (as a general tactic to deal more damage).

But, I noticed now, each additional swarm deals another point of psychic damage or each swarm cumulatively deals more damage?

Swarms deal more damage the more HD they have (a d6 every 4 HD). This basically makes it a 1d6+1 per level. Not much damage, but swarms are more or less based on tick damage anyway so its fine. And you can always have more than one swarm for the same effect spread over the area. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 22:45, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Oooh, now I get it, sorry I haven't managed many swarms, so no experience there. So even without an advancement "stat" you can increase HDs (it's fair, probably the only purpose of advancement is to show when the size changes), right? --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 23:12, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Yeah WotC is kinda weird like that since swarms are innately designed to be able to have arbitary amounts of HD, but all examples of them put "None" in advancement. I chose not to rock the boat. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 03:06, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
