Getting the ability to pounce this easily feels off to me.

The BAB +6 lets everyone else have a benefit from pounce without giving it early to the TWFers and multiattacking natural weapon users. Solid.

On easy pouncing...[edit]

Seeing as the Pounce Barbarian is a thing, spending a feet instead of the more forgettable +10 speed seems more reasonable to me. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 07:13, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

I consider that extremely cheesy. It's even on my banned list. Just because WotC did stupid things doesn't mean we have to continue that tradition and partake in stupidity ourselves as well. That train of thought would also legitimize a character who can use time stop a ton and similar stuff just because WotC did it first. --Ghostwheel (talk) 07:30, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Personally, I really dislike the whole Pounce mechanic, or rather I dislike the fact that it has become so easily accessible by PCs. It's not just the mechanics, or the fact that at VH balance level getting caught in one full attack is pretty much enough to kill anything, including or perhaps especially the other PCs in the party. It's the fact that I feel people have been implementing it unjustly.
The first time I saw Pounce is when I looked at the animal listings - the lion for example - when it pounces, it gets to make a full attack including two rake attacks. That doesn't sound so different but then you realize; one bite, two claws, and two rakes (the claws on the rear legs). It's literally like being pounced on by a lion and having all its claws and teeth descend on you at once. Great.
Not so for a player character though. When they pounce, they jump on top of their foe and then somehow do the same thing with a single manufactured weapon. It never sat well with me. I'd rather have Pounce be a natural weapons only thing.
That said the feat is more or less solid so I can't really rate it, because my opinion of one mechanics used would negatively colour my opinion of the entire article. --Sulacu (talk) 07:55, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
