An unremarkable anti-divination. But hey, it's boring but practical.

Magic Missile mess-up

Magic missile does not require a living creature to be the target. It can go after undead and constructs just fine. You may be thinking of its inability to attack objects. --Luigifan18 (talk) 01:58, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Easy fix. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:02, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Better than Mind Blank[edit]

This is really powerful for a second level spell. If you compare this with "Mind Blank", generally considered one of the better defensive buffs at 8th level, this does almost the same thing and more (since basically all mind affecting spells target creatures). The main drawbacks compared with mind blank are the reduced duration, the fact that non spell effects are not affected, and the fact that non-targeted divination are not affected. On the other hand, this spell shuts down so many more attacks than just mind affecting stuff. In fact, if facing off against a caster, chances are almost all of their single target spells are negated. Combine that with the still-pretty-good duration, and you have an effect that could easily fit a 4th or 5th level spell.--172.69.68.188 12:27, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Hm, took a look back at this spell and, while I'm not sold on it being mind-blank tier when it comes to divination (Nondetection is closer, and usually just as effective), you have a point on the targeting. Actually, I'm not 100% sure what my intent was. Well, maybe I do: I was probably thinking magic missile shouldn't track someone who doesn't show up. That said, the others have less justification since you should be able to point at them visibly and say "attack that square".
I'll mull it over and probably remove the targeting thing, or only apply it to magic missile. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 14:50, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
