Technical Pokemaniac

The scientists of the pokemon world - a Rogue with a companion

Class: Rogue

Level: 1, 5, optional: 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19

Replaces: At levels one and five, you do not gain Sneak Attack. At other levels, you may elect not to gain Sneak Attack or a Special Rogue Ability.

Benefit: At first level, you gain a Pokemon to travel with, and the Control Pokemon and Train Pokemon Class Features. Technical Pokemaniacs that are scientists typically choose Electric, Steel or maybe Poison Type Pokemon. Skilled people who can just do many things typically choose Normal or Flying Type Pokemon.

At levels three, seven and every two levels thereafter, you may choose to grant your Pokemon the Sneak Attack die instead of you gaining it.

At level five, you gain Heal Pokemon and Increased Awareness'.

At level ten, and every three levels thereafter, you may have one of the following instead of a Special Rogue Ability:

  • The ability to Craft Pokeballs, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Quick Balls, Timer Balls, Heavy Balls, Lure Balls, Luxury Balls and Net Balls, and to Craft any Magic Items, substituting your pokemon's abilities for the relevant spells. This can be selected once only.
  • The ability to cast Pokevolve (Druid Spell) as a Spell-Like Ability once per day. This may be chosen a second time, increasing it to three times per day, and a third time to increase it to "at will".
  • Type Specialisation and Subtype Specialisation. This may be selected multiple times, choosing different Types and Subtypes.
  • Your Pokemon learns a Rogue Special Ability instead of you. This may be selected multiple times, though it cannot choose to swap it for something on this list.
  • Trick Room: using a Full Round Action, you or your pokemon can make a Craft (Trap-making) check to infuse an entire 50x50x50' area or smaller with Vertigo Field and Hallucinatory Terrain as a Spell-Like Ability. This is an Illusion effect, and any Save DC is 10 + half the user's hit dice + the user's Charisma Bonus. This may be selected multiple times, so that you and multiple pokemon can learn it.
  • Become an Electric Gym Leader, gaining the effects of the Volt Badge at all times. It takes an hour to craft a new one if you want to give it out, and you gain a second pokemon, that must have Electric Pokemon Traits, with a level one lower than your primary one. You may then spend one additional Rogue Special Ability later on to gain a third pokemon, again with Electric Pokemon Traits, the same level as the second one.
