Twin Nova Rods[edit]
A mysterious set of twin rod, one blue and one red, made by a long line of evil female witches. While the rods look deceptively simple, they are in fact powerful artifacts capable of laying waste to entire kingdom with their firepower. While extremely powerful, the rods have made those who possess them incredibly dependent on them. This is not a curse or magical effect, their firepower simply mean few will resort to using their own abilities.
The rods possess five charges each, which replenish at the rate of 1 charge at the end of wielder's turn as long it was not used for 3 rounds. The caster level of the Rod is 15th or the wielder's own caster level, whichever is higher.
The Blue Rod fire rays of intense cold, which behave as the ur polar ray spell at the cost of 1 charge. Although not designed as a melee weapon, it can be used as +3 Icy Burst Heavy Mace if used as a melee weapon.
The Red Rod fire rays of molten metal, which behave as the molten steel ray spell at the cost of 1 charge. Although not designed as a melee weapon, it can be used as +3 Flaming Burst Heavy Mace if used as a melee weapon.
If a someone possess both rods they may be wielded together, although she will take penalties on the ray attack as if wielding two one-handed weapon which may be lessened with the Two-Weapon Fighting Feat. The Rods count as both melee weapon, rods and wands for the purpose of feats and abilities. The strong magic on them prevent them from being modified.
The Twin Nova Rods can be destroyed simply by firing them at each other. Sadly, although perhaps luckily, it is very rare that both rods are anywhere close to each others.
