Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Instinct Warrior.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Instinct Warrior receive proficiency with all simple and martial weapon and light armor but no shield.

Power Points/Day: A Instinct Warrior ability to manifest powers is limited by the power points he has available. Her base daily allotment of power points is given on Table: Instinct Warrior. In addition, she receives bonus power points per day if she has a high instinctual focus score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points). Her race may also provide bonus power points per day, as may certain feats and items.

Powers Known: A Instinct Warrior manifest power much like a Psion, using her chosen psionic focus ability score (see below) to determine the DCs of her powers. The Instinct Warrior has access to the Psion Power List and Seer Discipline Power List when picking power known, however she may only select power of the Clairsentience discipline and one other discipline of her choice.

Maximum Power Level Known: This column determines the highest level power a Instinct Warrior can learn at this level.

To learn or manifest a power, an Instinct Warrior must have her psychic focus ability score of at least 10 + the power’s level.

Combat Mastery: An Instinct Warrior may use her class level as her base attack bonus for the purpose of qualifying for feats as well as their benefit. If she use a combat maneuver, she may use her class level as her base attack bonus.

Insightful Surge (Su): As a free action, an Instinct Warrior can grant a single d20 roll a +2 insight bonus to it. This must be done before the roll is rolled. Once insightful surge is used it has a 1d4 round cooldown before it may be used again.

Additionally an Instinct Warrior may choose to reroll a d20 roll and add a +2 insight bonus to it by expending her psionic focus as an immediate action. This can be done after it is declared after the outcome of the roll is known but before it is applied.

Instinctual Focus: A 1st level Instinct Warrior choose between her Intelligence, her Wisdom and her Charisma. She gain a benefit based on the chosen ability score and use the chosen ability score for her Instinct Warrior's manifesting as well as several class features.

Intelligence: Whenever you make a Knowledge check you have ranks in, may roll it twice and take the best result. You may use Intelligence instead of Wisdom on Autohypnosis, Listen, Search, Sense Motive, and Spot checks.

Wisdom: You gain a +2 bonus on Initiative, and may use your Wisdom in place of Strength or Dexterity for Climb, Jump and Tumble checks.

Charisma: You gain a +3 bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy Skill, and Gather Information checks against those who would find you attractive. You may use your Charisma instead of Wisdom on Sense Motive checks.

Prescient Strike (Su): A Instinct Warrior is capable of manifesting an intense moment of insight when attacking, instinctively striking where it will hurt the most right past it defenses. As long as the Instinct Warrior is psionically focused, she may declare a Prescient Strike as a swift action. Doing so make her next attack deal an additional 1d10 precision damage and make the attacked creature flat-footed against it. She may only use Prescient Strike once per round. At 5th level and each 4 levels thereafter the damage dealt increase by an additional 1d10.

Much like Sneak attack, the extra damage dealt by Prescient Strike must be delivered within 30 ft. Any feat or effect which extend the range you can sneak attack also affect Prescient Strike. A Prescient Strike can cause creatures with Uncanny Dodge to still lose their Dexterity to AC, as long as the Instinct Warrior's class level is at least 4 higher than the target's class levels (from the class which grant her Uncanny Dodge).

Automatic Defense (Su): As long as a 2nd level Instinct Warrior is psionically focused, she add her Instinctive Focus ability score modifier as an insight bonus to her AC. This bonus is only active when she wear light or no armor and use no shields and carry a light load. Unlike most insight bonus it stack with the Insight bonus granted by defensive precognition. If a piece of ammunition or thrown weapon miss the Instinct Warrior, she may catch it in her hand

Bonus Feat: At 2nd level, 4th level and each 4 level thereafter the Instinct Warrior gain a bonus [Fighter] or [Psionic] feat she qualify for.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a Instinct Warrior can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.

If a Instinct Warrior already has uncanny dodge from a different class she automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.

Quickened Thoughts (Ex): At 3rd level a Instinct Warrior has the ability to predict the future very quickly, gaining a +1 insight bonus to her initiative and saving throws and AC against traps and natural hazards. This bonus increase by +1 at 6th level and each 6 levels thereafter.

Prescient Maneuver (Su): At 3rd level, whenever the Instinct Warrior use her Prescient Strike to do a Bull Rush, Disarm, Grapple or Sunder attempt (or make an attack with such maneuver as part of the attack) she gain the benefit of the Improved X feat of the combat maneuver attempted (such as Improved Grapple for a Grapple attempt).

Psionic Meditation: At 4th level an Instinct Warrior gain the Psionic Meditation as a bonus feat even if she do not meet the prerequisites.

Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): A 5th level Instinct Warrior of 8th level or higher can no longer be flanked.

This defense denies a rogue the ability to sneak attack the character by flanking her, unless the attacker has at least four more rogue levels than the target does.

If a character already has uncanny dodge (see above) from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead, and the levels from the classes that grant uncanny dodge stack to determine the minimum rogue level required to flank the character.

Evasion (Ex): At 6th level and higher, a Instinct Warrior can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless rogue does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Instinctual Presence (Ex): A 7th level Instinct Warrior can unconscious predict and fight back her foes while sleeping or unconscious. She is no longer helpless while sleeping and unconscious. If she is an natural sleep cycle and is about to be attacked, she automatically wake up.

Danger Sense (Su): A 9th Instinct Warrior is unconscionably aware of dangers around her, this also allow the her to be always able to act during surprise rounds and roll initiative twice, taking the best result.

Hyper-State (Ex): A 10th level Instinct Warrior can enter a state of perfect clairsentience harmony. As a free action she may enter this "hyper-state" which allow her to predict every attacks and hazards. In this state she gain 50% miss chance, which is not due to concealment and is not bypassed by true seeing and she roll all of her saving throws twice taking the better result. She no longer misses on natural 1 and her Prescient Strikes are rolled twice, taking the better result. Finally at the start of each round while in Hyper-State, the Instinct Warrior regain her Psionic Focus if she did not have it.

She may maintain her Hyper-State for 1 + her instinctual focus ability modifier in rounds per day, uses need not to be continuous. After using Hyper-State the Instinct Warrior is Staggered for 2 rounds per round of uses, bypassing immunities. Once an Instinct Warrior has exited Hyper-State she cannot assume it again for 5 minutes.

Rapid Prescient Strike (Su): At 11th level, a Instinct Warrior can now initiate her Prescient Strike as a free action instead of her swift action. She may still only use Prescient Strike once per round.

Improved Evasion (Ex): A 14th level Instinct Warrior takes no damage on a successful Reflex saving throw against attacks henceforth she henceforth takes only half damage on a failed save. A helpless instinct warrior does not gain the benefit of improved evasion.

Timeless Body (Ex): After attaining 15th level, a instinct warrior no longer takes ability score penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties she may have already incurred, however, remain in place.

Bonuses still accrue, and the instinct warrior still dies of old age when her time is up.

Perfect Insight (Su): An 18th level Instinct Warrior is capable of reacting instantaneously. Once per encounter as an immediate action she roll a natural 20 on any d20 check, however effects which trigger on natural 20 such as Vorpal do not trigger on Perfect insight.

Automatic Action (Ex): A 19th level Instinct Warrior is able to perceive the world in such a way that allow her to do multiple things at once. While in her Hyper-State she gain an extra standard action per round.

Ultimate Precognition (Ex): A 20th level Instinct Warrior can once per day predict a single moment in time perfectly. As a free action she may make all attack against her miss, succeed on all of her saving throws and make all of her attack Prescient Strikes. Ultimate Precognition last until the start of your next turn.
